"Do you want me to take you home now?" Josh says switching off the TV after watching it for about an hour and a half.
"Yeah sure," I say getting up from the couch.
I grab my purse and check my phone again for any new messages, but I don't have any.
"You expecting a call or something? You've been checking your phone like crazy," he asks with a small laugh.
"Not really. Sorry," I say putting my phone back in my purse.
Josh grabs his keys and we walk to the front of the house and out the door.
Once in the car and out of driveway, we finally make our way to my apartment.
"I had a good week," Josh says leaning his head back on the head rest and taking my hand in his.
"Me too," I say with a sigh.
I love Josh. Dearly. But the feelings are being pushed away by the buzzing that's coming from my phone in my purse.
"So what are you doing tomorrow? Maybe we can spend the day together or something," he says flashing me a smile.
"I'd love that, but I don't think I can. I have a lot of things to do," I say with a shrug.
"Alrighty," he says without question.
"Sorry," I speak.
Instead of answering, he lifts up my hand and kisses it.
Most of the car ride is silent aside from a few comments from Josh here and there. I can feel my phone buzzing in my purse but I don't dare answer it.
Josh finally pulls up in front of my building and parks the car.
"I don't want you to leave," he says smiling and still holding on to my hand.
"I know," I half smile and he raises an eyebrow.
"Are you okay?" he asks me with concerned eyes.
"Yeah, I just need to lye down, that's all," I say with a shrug.
"Okay. I'll see you in two days," he says smiling again.
"Two days," I smile back. Josh moves in to kiss me, but I just give him a quick kiss on the cheek.
"What was that?" he asks.
"Sorry," I say quickly getting out of the car. "I'll call you." I close the door and run up the stairs to the big apartment complex.
I walk into the lobby and walk up the stairs. I almost round the corner to the elevators, but I hear Josh calling for me.
"Jen," he says stopping at the bottom of the staircase.
"Did I leave something in the car?" I ask him.
"Yeah, you forgot this," he says trudging up the stairs.
He takes me in his arms and kisses me. He hugs me and waits for me to put my arms around his neck and I do.
"I don't know if you're stressed out, or worried about something, but I'm here. I'll always be here. Even if you don't want me to be. Okay?" he says meeting my eyes.
Instead of speaking, I respond to him with another kiss.
"Two days," I says resting my hand on his chest.
He kisses me again and hugs me before walking back down the stairs ad out the doors.
There's an emptiness in my chest now that I can't feel his arms around me. I want to chase after him and go back to his house and spend the day with him.
