The Disappearance of Osomatsu-san Drabbles

Family (Maruka & Todo)

(In the blog, Todo has been revealed to have a sister named Maruka, who was born after Todo was abandoned by his parents.)

Katsuna Maruka had went out with her friends as soon as she finished everything school-related. Not only did she have good grades that lead to her parents getting her a new phone, but she also had a date the next day. Her friends were teasing her about getting a boyfriend before they could, while her guy friends were joking around, telling her that if the guy had done anything to hurt her, they would hunt him down. She didn't mind their teasing and loved the attention, and she was having a good day at least.

They had went to the park for a picnic, and everything was going fine. Her cooking was being complimented, so she had no reason to frown.

That was, until she heard a familiar voice. "Oi, Choro! Don't throw so far, you're gonna hit someone!" Immediately, she turned away from her sandwich and looked behind her.

It was "him", the same guy who helped her home when she went grocery shopping and was caught in the rain.

It was Katsuna Todo, her brother.

She didn't get to see him after he passed out outside her house, with his apparent brothers fussing over him. She learned their names as they yelled at each other on what to do; Kara, the one with blue eyes, had been the one who was mostly concerned, to the point he seemed to be crying. Choro, the one with green eyes, was the one who caught Todo as he fell, and spoke with an accent. The one with yellow eyes was the youngest, Jyushi, and he was preventing the one with red eyes, Oso, from fighting Maruka.

As for the one with purple eyes, Maruka already knew about Ichi way before she met Todo. It was when her parents marched in Flag Corporation and demanded to see Todo, only to be told by Ichi that Todo no longer wants to see them. Out of the colorful-eyed clones of her brother, she hated Ichi the most. It was the way he looked at them with anger, as if he had the right to say such things to Todo's real family..

But he does have the right. He cares for my brother too.

Her brother had pink hair, which she could tell with ease that it was dyed. He also had the same pink eyes as her, and he was wearing what he wore on that fateful day; white polo, leather jacket and pants, white sneakers, and a black headband. He didn't seem to be in any pain at all, and Maruka briefly wondered what had caused him to faint that rainy day. He seemed to be playing with someone.. it was Choro, if Maruka remembered correctly. The green-eyed one wasn't wearing a suit (she swore he was wearing a suit that day), and instead, a simple green shirt, jeans, and shoes.

They were having fun, it seemed.

"Todo, you must jump higher!" Choro giggled, tossing a pink ball higher into the air, probably directed at Todo. Much to Maruka's shock, it had managed to hit a bird, causing the poor thing to land. "Oh! I accidentally hit poor Victoria!" Choro cried.

"You literally aimed for a bird!" Todo barked, catching the ball as it fell. "And did you just name a pigeon 'Victoria'?!" He ran over to Choro to give him a light smack on the head. "Idiot!"

Maruka's eyes softened, as Choro started to ruffle Todo's hair playfully. They got along so well, she thought. Todo ran back to his spot to toss the ball back at Choro, who caught it and threw it at his direction again. As they played longer, Todo seemed to start laughing. As in, genuine laughter. Choro too, and even as he stumbled and fell on his back against the grass, he was laughing.

"You two seem to be having fun!" Maruka saw four of Todo's "brothers" walk in. Kara had his arms crossed, but a bright smile on his face as he knelt beside Choro. "Oh. You're sweating! Care for a glass of water?"

"Is this what 'fun' is, Kara?" Choro asked between his laughing.

"...Haha.. yes.." Oso stifled a giggle, looking away as he covered his mouth with his hand.

"Ah! Oso-niisan laughed!" Jyushi cheered, sitting on his wheelchair.

"Heh. So he did.." And the one behind Jyushi's wheelchair was Ichi. His glasses were hanging on the collar of his outfit, and he had a small smile on his face as he watched Oso turn red and attempt to save his own dignity.

Todo ran to the group, having a somewhat content smile on his face as he gave the rubber ball to Jyushi. That was when Maruka realized something.

Todo was actually happy.

He was smiling brightly as Choro got up and locked both him and Kara in some sort of hug, in which he tried to pry himself away from. Oso looked away yet again, but his hand was being held by a brightly smiling Jyushi, and Jyushi's other hand was holding Ichi's.

They were a happy family.

"Maruka-chan?" Maruka snapped out of whatever trance she may have been. She turned to see one of her friends looking at her with worry. "Are you alright?"

She quickly glanced at them. It seemed as if Todo and his family were just about to leave.

"...Yeah."
