When the lights suddenly went out in the house, Oso was instantly annoyed. He was watching some bird documentary he found by pressing the buttons of the remote randomly, and just when things were starting to get interesting, the lights, the air conditioner, and the TV decided to die off. What's worse was that four of the brothers weren't around, leaving only Oso and Choro in the house. Not that Oso minded, because as painful Choro was, he actually didn't mind clinging to him when he needed comfort. Oso didn't want to show his weak side to either Todo or Ichi, and he most certainly did not want to worry Kara or Jyushi, so Choro was the best choice.

Ichi was still at work, probably preventing Hana from burning down his office while Homura, Fuyu, and Yuki watch, knowing in their hearts that Hana trying to destroy Ichi's paperwork was a norma thing,. Todo and Kara were at a high school reunion and were probably going to be late, which made Kara leave some food out on the table for dinner later. And Jyushi was at that café near the park, claiming he was going to play with a dog or something. Oso didn't really know why Jyushi liked that café so much, and Oso snorted at the though of Jyushi going to the café for a date with someone.

Impossible. There's no way Jyushi's meeting up with someone without telling us.

But despite the darkness and that silly thought in his head, he stood up from the floor, calmly dusted his bottom, and stretched his arms. He could hear the frantic hooting of Mimatsu and the meowing of Ginger, so he snapped his fingers, causing a small ball of light to appear. It would serve as light now, until Oso could find a flashlight or a candle. He scowled, needing Choro's help, but not being able to yell due to his soft voice.

I guess I have to go to his room then.. but that requires effort, doesn't it? I don't wanna go there.. but it's kinda boring down here, in the dark.. it's better to find Choro than being a lazy sack of shit.

As sluggish as he was, Oso at least made it up the stairs, passing by his room, as well as the rooms of Kara, Todo, Jyushi, Ichi, and finally, he stopped in front of Choro's, gently opening it. There was no point in knocking, especially since they were the only ones at the house right now.

"..Choro." He called out with his soft voice that he hated so much. Damn, if he had a louder voice, he didn't even have to go up here in the first place. "Choro.. where are.. oh..?"

Choro was curled up in a ball, his back pressed against the wall. However, after hearing Oso's footsteps, he instantly shot up, eyes full of fear. The fear only vanished when he saw it was Oso staring at him with his wide-open red eyes. "O-Oh! Owl! You scared me so- I m-mean, I was rather, um.. terrified- I woke up from a nap with a splitting headache! Y-yes, that's it!" He stuttered as he stood up, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.

What a bad liar.

Oso could tell that Choro was afraid. But he knew that if he pointed it out, Choro would only feel shame. He didn't want Choro to feel bad about being scared of something. "Aniki." He called out, knowing that the title of "older brother" would boost Choro's pride. And it did, judging by the smile he now had on his face. "..Let's go.. down.. and put some.. candles.."

Choro flinched, suddenly dropping his smile. "Um.. w-wouldn't it be safer for us to stay here instead?"

He's scared, obviously.

Oso shook his head. He may be the second youngest in this dimension, but he's technically the eldest, thanks to being Osomatsu's other self and all. "..Either Ichi.. or Jyushi.. could come home.. and Jyushi's scared.. of the dark.. and Ichi.. might trip.. not that I care.." He scoffed. "Aniki.. get up.. already.."

Choro did as he was told, but he wasn't looking at Oso's direction. "V-Very well then, Owl!"

Suddenly, Oso grabbed one of his hands. The red-eyed male wasn't used to having physical contact with people, much less his own brothers. But as expected, Choro's hands were sweaty and cold against his own, meaning that he was terrified.

Choro flushed a bit. "T-This is rather.. humiliating.." He murmured. "I.. apologize if I'm pathetic.."

"..Don't be.." Oso murmured. "Brothers.. help each other out.. right..? Doesn't matter.. who is older.. or younger.."

"True.."

Oso made a small, yet rare smile. "Let's go down.. okay, aniki?"
