Date night

April's POV:
I was walking with Jackson through the halls.
"God Sloan is driving me crazy. He's got me run riot." Jackson moaned
"Shut up you love him really."
"Well yeah but-" I stopped as we turned to corner "April?"
"This - this is where Reed, after you told me I came up here and slipped on her blood. I still have the scrub, they're just sat in the cupboard covered in blood"
"The room where Charles died. I haven't been in it since always sent Mark for anything in that room" he said and I sobbed even more and he pulled me into a hug.
"You could have died. Oh god I don't know what I would have done if you had died too." I cried into his chest
"I know" he soothed
"And he almost shot me oh god." I cried "all I kept thinking when that gun was pointed at me was I'm gonna die a virgin"
"Well we can fix that." Jackson said. I looked up.
"That a proposition." I joked
"What? Oh no- not me. I mean- no I didn't "
"Oh no it was a joke a joke a stupid joke" I stuttered, "I'm just gonna -" I said pointing in a direction and then walking away very fast.

Jackson's POV:
"Hey Avery!" I heard Mark shout
"Yes?" I asked annoyed
"Get your friking ass over here now!" He shouted at me. I walked towards him.
"What do you want Sloan?"
"You been flirting with Lexie?" He asked
"Yeah a little why?"
"Don't-"
"What?"
"Don't do it. Do not flirt with little Grey do not even think about it or I swear I'll have you doing lypos for the next year you hear me?" He said
"What the hell Sloan that's not fair."
"Life's not fair!" He shouted as he walked away

April's POV:
"Hey Kepner can you come here a sec!" Owen shouted at me
"Yeah what's up?" I said walking over to him
"I was just wondering how you were doing preparing for your boards?"
"Pretty good, I get most things right, late night study sessions with Alex and Jackson."
"Good. Good. Just so you know when you kick ass on the boards and all these amazing hospitals flood in with offers, I trained you." He said
"Are you trying to guilt trip me into staying??" I asked
"Just a little bit." He said "was it obvious?" He asked and I just laughed

Jackson's POV:
"Hey! Lexie!" I shouted jogging up to her.
"Hey Jackson." She greeted me
"Hey so I was wondering if you wanted to go for dinner tonight?"
"Yeah sure, I would love to."
"Awesome I will meet you at the front of the hospital at 7pm?"
"Cool" she giggled and blushed as I flashed her one of my Avery smiles, before walking away. I got paged by April to the ER. So I ran there.
"Hey apes what we got."
"16 year old girl, 3rd degree burns, house fire, Little sister is over there with Arizona, Owen and Sloan."
"Crap" I said
"Sorry I'm late I was just finishing my last check up on a patient." Alex said coming over.
"It's fine don't worry." April said
"Can't we just leave this to Avery, looks like just burns to me." He said. Then April lifted the girls shirt a little to reveal her stomach. It was wide open like it had been burnt through.
"Now you just wanna leave it to Avery?" She asked
"Crap." Alex said.
"I already booked an OR lets go." April said as we wheeled the patient off.

April's POV:
We were in surgery and it was really quiet so I started talking.
"So, um, Jackson, how are you and Lexie?" I asked
"I actually just asked her out before you paged me."
"Oh." I said, I felt kind of upset by that. I put it down to wanting to protect my best friend. "Just make sure you don't get hurt or I'll hurt her." I said and Jackson chuckled. Alex let out a massive laugh and said,
"Please, get hurt I would pay to see little grey get her ass kicked by little red" he laughed
"Not funny Karev." Jackson said
"It is a little funny" I said and Jackson just shot me a pleading look.
"What? Me and Lexie don't get along as it is." I said
"Speaking of which, you are going to have to fix that." Jackson said
"What? Why?"
"Because if me and Lexie are gonna be together i need you to be nice, I already have to get around Sloan for some reason I don't need you being a pain in my ass too." He said
"But-"
"Please April. I need you to do this for me." He was giving me his best puppy dog eyes that he knew I couldn't say know to.
"Fine I will try to be nice"
We finished the surgery after a few hours and the child was fine.
"Right I'm off to dinner." Jackson said
"Bye!" I shouted after him and he ran off
"You like Avery." Alex said coming up behind me
"What?!" I said
"You like him." He said plainly
"Are you crazy? Like seriously." I said
"No not crazy just right."
"Don't be a moron Alex. I know that's difficult for you but at least try." I mocked
"Ha-ha" he said sarcastically, "come on lets go home." He said

Jackson's POV:
"Dinner was great." Lexie said as we came into the house
"You look beautiful" I said
"You've said that like a hundred times tonight" she giggled and blushed
"18" I said and she looked at me "I was aiming for 20 so I kept count. You look beautiful." She laughed "shh" I hushed her knowing April, Alex and Derek would be home and asleep. We walked into the lounge and the light turned on.
"Hello" Derek said
"Hello?" We both said in unison
"Lexie, you know Mark is not gonna be happy about you dating his protege and," he turned to me, "I'm not happy about you dating an distracting mine"
"Yeah what's Sloan's deal he told me to stay away."
"He did what?" Lexie asked, "he's a dead man." She said
"Let's just go to bed." I said
"Okay." Lexie said. We went upstairs and walked to the second set of stairs that goes to the attic, Lexie's room.
"Goodnight Jackson."
"Night Lex" I said and she turned away. "Oh by the way." I called after her and she stopped and turned to face me, "you look beautiful"
