Why must this happen? To us? To our undying love? Yes, it is wrong but it is also so right! No one agrees with us and I do not blame them. This is a very tragic love story.

My name is Marsh. And I am a marshmallow. My father is King Mallo the third, the biggest marshmallow. He does not agree with my love choice but accepts it for his only son.

I am at the prime of my life and have deeply fallen for my opposite.

I am in love with Catherine, a cup of hot cocoa. I stumbled upon her and started having nice conversations about anything and everything before falling in love.

We love each other. But we must not touch. If we were to touch, I would slowly melt and Catherine would no longer be hot.

Catherine has no family, they were all taken away from her by disastrous humans. She is sad and lonely, but she knows she has me, always.

I was now on my way to see her again, making sure she was alright and not taken by humans. Once there, I saw Catherine crying, sobbing and steaming in her cup. Her milk chocolate eyes sad and afraid. I made my way over to her quickly before reminding myself not to touch her.

"What is wrong, my love? What has you so distressed?"

"Oh, my Marsh. I have horrible news. I'm afraid we can no longer see each other." Catherine told me sadly.

"What!? Why are you saying such things?" I was shocked, why is she acting like this all of a sudden?

"Marsh. I over heard heard humans. They say it is cold outside and children wish for hot cocoa... I am the only cup available. I do not wish for you to see me go! Please. Please! Leave me be, there is no escaping this..." Catherine was terrified, she was ranting and crying hysterically. It was a sight that crushed my mushy heart.

"Catherine, I love you! Do you not already know? Everything will turn out okay." I tried to reassure her but only helped slightly.

I moved closer and I could feel her delicious heat.

"But how do you know? I love you, too, and I trust you. But how? You can't be sure. "

"I am. I'm completely sure. Love conquers all. Us for example! We are not supposed to be but we are! Have faith in us."

Catherine took deep breaths and stared into my eyes before blinking away her tears.

"You are right. I'm sorry, Marsh."

"It's fine, darling. Let us not think of things and enjoy being together."

"'Yes... Yes, that sounds wonderful. "

After a time of just being together, close and talking, humans appeared. They were loud and monstrous. Catherine was scared.

"Remember what I said. It will be okay." I told her.

And then I touched her.

I touched her side, handle, face, and then I was on her. In her delicious chocolate cocoa. It was amazing.

"No! Marsh! What are you doing?" Catherine cried out.

"My Catherine. I want us to be together forever. I will follow you to food heaven if that is what it takes. I love you."

"I love you, too! I am so sorry this has happened."

"Not to worry, darling. It will be over soon."

As I started to melt, Catherine was picked up. I saw a mouth...

"I love you, Catherine."

"And I love you, Marsh."

Then nothing.
