Chapter 36

Toby's POV:

*3 day time skip* Clenching the steering wheel of the truck while driving to Aria's house to check up on her, I can't seem to shake the feeling that something is wrong. She's been acting strange since she got home from the hospital two days ago. I pull into her driveway behind her father's car. "Great" I say sarcastically, Byron hasn't been taking a liking me me because he blames me for hospitalizing his daughter. I sigh and net mout of the truck, walk up the porch and knock on the front door. Luckily Mike answers the door and informs me that Aria is upstairs. As I'm walking up the stairs I see Byron in the living room. I give a slight friendly wave "Hi Mr. Montgomery" I say politely. He just gives me an obviously fake smile and picks up a random book on a side table and starts looking at it. I continue up the stairs and start walking towards Aria's room. I give a light knock on the door. "Come in" she says. I walk in and see her sitting on her window seat. I close the door behind me and sit next to her. "Hey" she says in a low depressed tone. "What's up?" I ask in a soft voice. "Nothing, just sitting here" she responds. "No, I mean what's wrong with you." She looks up at me "What do you mean?" she says. "I know something is bothering you and you aren't telling me what it is." "How do you know something is wrong?" she asks. "You don't seem like yourself. What wrong?" She lets out a big sigh. "At the hospital, Hanna and Spencer told me that Emily is seeing Ezra." "Why would that bother you?" I ask "The last time you mentioned his name you said you hated him and that you are happy that he is out of your life." "I know" she responds. "Do you still have feelings for him?" she doesn't respond. "Well then, I'll be going now" I say as I get up. "Don't leave" she says. "I have to, because if I stay that means I'm okay with you still having feelings for someone you said you never wanted to see again and you lying to me." "Tob-" She starts to say as I open the door and start walking down the hall and out of her house.
