The Cheating game

"I hope it is okay.. I would love to be with you right now, but I need to take care of this.. I need to talk to Luke, make out what we release and such". Tom look at me apologeticly.

I just smile and kiss him lightly. "It is okay Tom, I understand this has to be done, so hurry of and get it sorted out..we have a lot of time from now on".

He lean in.. kissing me again, before leaving with Chris.. I look after them, feeling so happy that Tom is finally free, out of her claws... but also feeling slightly nervous.

"So happy now honey ? Now you can have him all to yourself". Zac sends me a bright smile.

I look up at him. "Yeah, and thank you Zac.. I don't think I ever laughed so hard.. that was really some kind of show".

"I should actually have a prize.. I mean I was the only one sacrificing myself here.. I had to kiss her". He look like he is feeling really sorry for himself.

I shake my head grinning. "Yeah right.. good one, it couldn't be that bad ? And what would that prize be ?"

"Well unfortunately Tom has put his greasy paws on you.. if he hadn't I could come up with a lot of fun ideas". He puts his arms around my waist, grinning down at me.

I roll my eyes, trying to ignore the uproar of butterflies.. then I slap him on the shoulder. "Behave or I don't want to talk to you at all".

"Oh but who said anything about talking ?" He tilt his head, his eyes catching mine, making my stomach do backflips again, but I still ignore that.

He can be such a tease sometimes, but he doesn't mean anything bad by it, that is just the way he is.

"Well I have nothing to do, so what do you think ? Wanna do something fun ?" He look at me waiting for an answer.

I arch an eyebrow, looking at him.. I am trying to figure out what he meant, is he teasing her again ? "Zac ?"

"Relax darling.. I was thinking about doing some sightseeing.. watch a movie in your room.. relaxing and having fun". He look at me.

I let out a pent up breath, happy that we have managed to be friends despite our by now comprehensive history. "Yes let's do that.. I don't know when Tom is free again anyway".

So I spent most of the day with Zac, we have a lot of fun, first doing some sightseeing in town and the laying on my bed watching a movie and eating popcorn.. honestly I haven't felt this relaxed.. or had so much fun in a long time.

We also watch the internet explode when news break that Tom is single again.. it is put out as a mutual decision and it is claimed that they will stay friends.. me and Zac knowing better, finds this rather amusing.

In the evening I suddenly get a text from Tom. 'Are you in your room ? I'll be there in about 10 minutes'.

"Well that is my signal to leave, I don't think Tom would like finding me here". Zac get up from the bed.

I sigh, but he is probably right. "Well at some point he have to learn to live with it, because you are my friend and you will always be..but today might be the wrong day".

"Ouch really.. did I just get friend zoned right there ? Damn baby that hurts". He pout at me.

I pull a face at him. "Watch out or I will slap you right in the zone, and what did I say about calling me baby ?"

"Yeah yeah, see you around honey.. remember if anything.. if you need me just call or text.. if you need to talk, a shoulder to cry on or you know ..". He wink at me.

I open the door, pointing down the hallway. "Now get going funny boy, or I'll tell Tom on you".

Zac just walk out grinning and blows me a kiss before walking down the hallway.

Shortly after there is a knock on my door and I open it letting Tom in.. he walks briskly past me.. I close the door and try putting my arms around him, kissing him.

He takes my hands and remove them gently... I suddenly realise that he is looking very serious.. to serious. "We have to talk Alli".

"Okay Tom". I feel how my heart sink in my chest, there is something wrong.. what can have happened since the last time I saw him ?

He walk to the couch and sit down.. i sit down opposite him on the chair.. sitting on the edge.. waiting.

"Alli, I .. I don't.. don't really know where to start.. I have been talking to Luke about all this.. And .. Well..". He seem to have a hard time finding the right words.

I am chewing on the inside of my cheek, afraid I know exactly where this is going. "Tom just say it, rip it of like a band aid".

"I am truly sorry, but it would be a publicity nightmare for me to start a new relationship now.. everyone would think I cheated". He look kinda broken.

I swallow and close up my feelings. "And you would look like the bad guy, your reputation would take a big hit.. I get it".

"Sorry Cass.. shit Alli, I should have thought about this before.. I shouldn't have made promises to you..made you think .." He is looking at his hands.

I breathed in deeply.. there it was again.. my sisters name and I cut him off. "It is fine Tom.. I get it, no need to keep explaining.. I just think you should leave now okay ?"

"I truly am sorry about this Alli.. maybe in a couple of months, when this is forgotten a bit ?" He look at me pleading.

Right now I just can't bear to look at him.. I stand up and go to open the door. "Please leave Tom".

He duck out the door, and when he turn, looking like he is going to apologise again, I slam the door in his face.

I grab my phone, pushing in a quick text and sending it, fighting back the tears 'I need you'.
