Sorry it is a little short guys i have huge plans for this story. I have really backed off bethrothed to someone else just because i can't get these people out of my head. I will post the other book if people want me to otherwise ENJOY. Let me know what you think next chapter is long and action packed and then comes lots of drama! Let me know!!! Love you two fans hahah!!!
"Focus...... focus..... focus." My eyes were closed but I knew what I was doing I could feel it even if I couldn't see it, I was asked to create a small tornado and I did just that. That stupid soothing voice was starting to lose its charm.
"I can practically taste the air I'm so focused!" A deep chuckle followed that remark. I tightened my circling air and pushed it to go faster. At this rate it might pick up some trash! I wanted to go bigger, badder, better, but no I was to learn precision then I could learn mass. I imagined a small pen was at the center of my air and forced the air to twirl faster around that area without touching the other side. It was working I could now feel the air touching my face even though I had moved the tornado a good ten feet out. Warm strong fingers touched the back of my neck and my air dissipated.
"Focus. I am simply trying to distract you, close your eyes and get your tornado going with me trying to distract you." I shuddered, unintentionally, and a sigh slipped out. It's just Lane. It's just Lane. But lately Lane wasn't just Lane. I pushed the thought away and refocused on my air. Deep breathes. His fingers got back to work massaging the back of my neck sending goose bumps over my skin. I had half a mind to push him away. No this is training focus around him. He's just doing what Mr. Mercen was. Ever since the day in the alley Kallum had all but disappeared, literally, a new trainer had shown up after lunch. Apparently he was training for the tournament tomorrow as well. I couldn't help but wonder where he was, nor could i help the longing that would fill me at nights after another day passed and i still hadn't seen him. The hands had moved to my shoulders rubbing and kneading massaging and stroking. I pushed the air faster, my heart rate accelerating and knee's starting to get weak. I think the mixture of desire and power was a very bad thing.
"Grace." Lane whispered darkly into my ear. No not again. Along with Klum's disappearance Lane wouldn't stop hitting on me. I swear he made a pass at me every chance he got and then if he didn't get a chance he made one. Like right now. My first choice as a partner hadn't been Lane especially lately with his feeling becoming what they were, but I knew I needed to learn control over my energy and he was the perfect teacher for that job. We had gotten permission to train out in the woods after hours and the first thing I noticed was that I had severely underestimated Lane's abilities. We sat cross legged on the forest floor facing each other; Lane flicked his hand at a boulder located to my right. It crumbled. My mouth dropped and I had been terrified of him since. My energy had strengthened considerably along with my air shield given that I couldn't even take a hit from Lane without passing out if it wasn't in protection mode.
"No Lane. No. If you won't help then please just go away." It hurt to say it and I sensed the hurt in him before he quickly covered it.
"Alright well I will be over here if you need me." It really did feel like intruding when he didn't try to keep his feelings from me but honestly I had so much on my mind I really just didn't have time to hold his hand AGAIN and tell him why we couldn't be together. The air at the facility had been getting thicker and thicker with anticipation and fear as we got closer and closer to the tournament. The fear part was what scared me something seemed off anyone with authority eyed others with authority as if to say what do we do what do we do? It was odd they always kept their feelings under control they were the military for goodness sake! There was really no reason for me to get worked up though the tournament was tomorrow with everyone arriving in the morning. I for one was excited. Lane was not. He didn't see it as a good sign that they wanted to compare powers it meant things were on the move, Lane never did like change. I glanced over at him and gave him a smile and he gave me his beautiful crooked smile in return. He was still my best friend in the entire world. THAT would never change, no matter how much he hit on me. I studied him as he got back to training he was very handsome just as tall and muscular as Kallum but Lane reeked friendly whilst every pore on Kallums body screamed danger.
