Kept in the Dark - Chapter 9

"Everyone get into a circle please. Yes right here. Here at my feet. Like kindergarten people come on this isn't hard." Everyone jogged down the hill and dropped into a rough circle at General Shaif's feet Lane on one side of me Blaine on the other. Kallum was flanked by women, I swear the pretty blonde would have sat in his lap if she could have. She was flashing him dazzling smiles and whispering in his ear. Wow that was fast. Not that i cared. Maybe one of them would give him an STD. I smiled at the thought. "Ok I want to go around the circle and for everyone to introduce themselves and what they specialize in. I want today to be fun and relaxing. We are family now. We will have a little formal dinner slash meet and greet tonight but for now I want some simple answers and some smiles guys. Come on." He pointed to Lane directly to his left.

"I am Lane. I am an Animal Ascender and I am a pretty decent fighter. My energy level isn't too bad but I am by no means amazing." he ended lamely. I punched him in the arm. He looked at me shocked.

"Don't listen to him the guy's just humble He's pretty bad ass. I'm Grace and I am an air guider. I love to fight I am still working on my energy though it isn't quite where I want it to be." I ended with a smile. Most of the guys smiled back. Kallum glared and Dexter watched with interest.

"I'm Blaine um I am super strong and my energy is off the charts but I have a very hard time focusing it and I can't use it mentally it has to be used physically. Think juggernaut." He snapped his fingers sending out a ripple of energy like a strong gust of air. "See." He ended with a big smile. The short blonde haired twin gave a big smile back. Oh they would be cute together!

"I am Heathe and I think they call us the "ninjas" of the 24th chromosome but I think the formal term is essential." A gasp was heard from the men. "I just um I am really good at fighting and agility and balance and speed and being aware of my surroundings and stuff. I can in fact blend in with my surroundings really well." He let out an awkward laugh. "I can't really explain it. I just know where to go so people won't find me." Another awkward laugh. He looked toward Saphrina.

"I am Saphrina and I used to be a gypsy and my chromosome made it so that I can read your past. All of your past every event that occurred and every thought you well thought. It also allows me to see your future but only your immediate future and I have to concentrate very hard so I don't do it often. It also increased my agility, my beauty, my strength. The normal stuff I guess." She shrugged her shoulders and looked to Misty.

"Hi everyone I am misty and I can disappear." and just like that she did, but reappeared instantly. "see?" That one got a round of applause from the men. "Um that's my main one other than that I am pretty much like Saphrina. I'm not much of a fighter though just ask Grace she kicked my ass." She chuckled lightly I blushed. I hadn't expected her to actually bring that up.

"Well I am summer." The blonde girl spoke up. "and I can basically make you believe whatever I want you to. Um example, OH, I can look at you and say we have known each other for years and you will believe it. I mean like seriously believe it from stories that you think are true to me knowing your grandma. I am good. It doesn't work on you guys because well you guys can feel lies but humans, psh, I got even the strongest willed people to believe me. OH and I'm gorgeous OBVIOUSLY." She finished. Wow I didn't like her already. I really hoped her and Kallum swapped STD's.

"I am Kallum and I am an earth caller. I am also into fighting and energy. All around pretty well." He finished quickly. Wow who would have guessed? Kallum didn't sit there and brag for a couple of hours?? Hmm.

"I am Danika and I am a water steer. I fight and meditate nothing amazing. But stay away from that lake when we battle." She ended with a wink and a chuckle.

"I am Sarah and I am a contortionist slash ninja? Is that what they call it?" She glanced at Heathe who shrugged. "Well yeah basically what he said." She ended with a shrug and looked to the dark skinned kid with beautiful hazel eyes next to her.
