James
Meeting: 2
My chest has this ache I can't shake. An empty feeling in my stomach that has caused me to lose my appetite for days. It's as if something or someone is trying to connect with me. Trying to open a link, so I open one for them. I don't know why, but I felt like I had to. Like something big is going to happen soon and I need to be there when it happens. It was an irresistible tug in me.
"Hey, James. Are you alright?"
I look up at Carson with a smile and rub my forehead, my brows furrow as I try to feel for the person.
"Yeah, just not hungry. Go ahead and play without me." I dismiss as I toss my hand of cards on the table and push my half eaten pieces of pizza away, in which Riley and Carson reaches over and devours with no shame.
"You sure? You're gripping your head like you're experiencing extreme pain. Are you in pain?"
Harrison watches me in concern as he delicately wipes off the tomato sauce from the corners of his mouth with a napkin.
"Not exactly."
"You're not nauseous, are you?"
"No, Drake. I don't think so."
"You never get sick." I look up to Riley, sitting next to his twin, July, who agrees with him.
"I don't think I'm sick, guys. Really, don't worry about it. I'm sure it'll pass soon."
They all watch me closely but don't push any further, in which I am grateful for. It's nice that they're worried about me. Like Riley said, I never get sick.
"I'm going to get something to drink," I announce as I get up to go to the kitchen for some apple juice.
"Alright," they all say in unison, paying their attention to the card game.
Sitting up, I pat Harrison on the shoulder, knowing he's still worried about me. I walk into the kitchen and bend down to look into the fridge for my apple juice. I growl snatching the empty bottle from itself and toss it in the trash.
"Carson, I'm going to kill you!"
"Shit!"
He tries to run off, stumbling on the legs of the chair, but I use my speed and grab him by the collar of his shirt. Lifting him up slightly in the air, our noses almost touching.
"How many times do I have to tell you, not to drink my juice!"
"It's not like it has your name on it!"
"Oh, really?"
I extend my hand out, feeling the forceful pull coursing through my veins as I guide the container through the house. I see Drake duck when the empty Apple Juice container whizzes pass by his head through my peripheral vision. Grabbing the container in mid air, I turn it so my name written in large, bold print is in Carson's face. He just stares at it unfazed with a bored expression. I growl and punch him in the face. He falls to the ground; I straddle him and start to take in punches.
"Seriously, you guys need to stop pushing each other's buttons and just make love already," I hear Riley snicker.
I ignore them and there little comments about our nonexistent love life as they watch Carson and I fight in our mini battle. He blocks my every hit, pissing me off. Growling, I grab his thick head of hair and slam his head through the wood floor.
"James! You're going to tear down my house!"
I turn my head over my shoulder to glare at Drake before I'm thrown into the air, across the room and fall into the couch chair, crumbling underneath me. Carson moves to pounce on me but I punch him in the side before he lands, causing him to fly over and roll to my left. I walk over to him and throw him against the wall, my hand tightly around his neck, the other gripping his waist. My canines pushing through my gums, deadly venom drips on my lips.
"You know I need that shit to live! What am I supposed to drink without it?" His smile is crooked as his eyes train on my bulging muscles, his hand running over my arm slowly as he lets out a moan.
"Man, I love it when your vampire comes out like this. You want to drink my juice? Because I'm totally about to cum right now, I'm so turned on." I growl, my claws extending into his waist.
"I'm not giving you a blow job." My voice is stern and void of emotion.
"Oh, baby you can do way more than that." His expression turns from a lazy lust to slightly concerned. "Have you had any blood lately?"
"No," I answer angrily.
"You probably should, I can't have my precious little Jay-Jay running around biting everyone," he says sickly sweet, running his finger down my cheek. I growl and rip my grip from his neck and turn around, closing my eyes.
"Jamison, what the hell is going on?" I open my eyes to be met with Drake's ruby orbs. I shake my head with a sigh. The worry in Drakes eyes intensifies as he sets his hands onto my shoulders.
"It's normal for you and Carson to get into stupid fights but, both your wolf and vampire were close to the surface. You're not in danger, so why was your wolf acting out?"
I sigh and run my fingers through my long, blonde hair. Feeling my wolf finally calming down, my fangs retract and my nails short and dull. Carson whines now that my muscles have broken down to usual again, I ignore him.
"I don't know. My wolf has been antsy all day. Weeks, actually."
All of a sudden there's a sharp pain in my abdomen, I clench my jaw as I fall to my knees. The headache from before getting more intense. My chest aches and burns.
"What is happening? Drake!" I scream as Harrison and Drake sit me down in a chair at the table.
"I don't know," I hear Drake whisper, worried for his pup.
Someone presses a glass against my lip, parting my lips as they tilt the glass. The second I taste the cold blood I snatch the cup and gulp it down hastily, the pain disappearing.
"Better?"
I look up at Harrison with a small smile and nod.
"Yeah, thanks."
"No prob—."
The sound of the front door opening cuts him off. My ears perk up as my headache slowly starts to subside. My wolf stirring anxiously. My brows furrow as everyone becomes alert when a strong smell of hot, fresh blood hits our noses. A low growl of pleasure rumbles through my chest as another scent fills my nostrils. It's mouth watering, a mixture of a flower, Water Lily, peaches and honey.
Just then my eyes are focused on the most beautiful creature on the planet. Her long, wavy hair fades a light golden blonde to blue. Her face so beautiful I can't even begin to explain. My breath hitches as her sharp purple to blue eyes lock with my red-yellow ones. I feel like I'm in a dream as I hear my wolf howl in my head,
"Mate!"
I sit there, staring at her as she smiles at me, causing me to melt. I have absolutely no complaints. She's perfect, totally worth waiting centuries for.
"Help me."
She whimpers and tumbles to the floor.
Well, I guess running into my arms and mating can wait.
