“Don't walk behind me; I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend.” ( Albert Camus)

Chapter 1

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Get ready Brooke, get ready.
I kept telling myself that as I kept walking towards the hostel after visiting the administrator’s office. I walked past many students bidding their parents or siblings, welcoming their friends or discussing loudly about their new session- all in their happy little bubbles, completely oblivious to the glum human radiating sadness that had just walked past them.
Why would they?
I passed a group of girls huddled together at the corner, discussing loudly about their clothes.They gave a quick glance at me before double taking and giving me a big scowl, but I ignored it and kept walking towards my going-to-be-new-room.
“102…103….104…105.”
That was it..105, my new abode. I stood in front of the wooden door exhibiting a name in cursive.
Amanda Brown
Is she my roommate? No shit Sherlock she is. I facepalmed at how foolish I was.
How will be my first roommate? Will she be a psycho? Well at least then she can understand me in the least. Or will she be a popular girl? God I seriously am not in the mood to witness another slimy ball of fakeness now. Not that all popular girls are fake…
 God damnit Brooke! Just open the goddamn door!
 I took a deep breadth relaxing my nerves before pushing open the door.
 Guess I used too much force because the door was already open and the ultimate conclusion was that I fell on the floor, on my face….in front of my roommate.
 Great first impression, isn’t it?
 I grimaced in pain as I sat up on the clean floor and started rubbing my arm which was now paining wildly.
 A musical laugh echoed around the room as I looked up with a scowl at the girl sitting on the bed in front of me.
 There on the four poster bed sitting in the middle of a neat and tidy room with bright yellow curtains and pink walls was  a spectacled girl looking straight at me.
 I realized how crazy I must have looked, sitting on the floor rubbing my arm while staring at the pretty girl in front of me. I cleared my throat before standing up and looking staight at the girl, who was now looking at me with amusement.
 She was a petite brown haired girl with her hair cut short reaching only her neck and had small frekles on her cheeks, which were otherwise very red. Her loose fitted white sweater and her small pyjama pants added to her innocent and cute look.
“ Are you okay?” she asked me in a surprisingly loud and chirping voice. I slowly nodded my head, feeling like a fool in front of her. I staightened up again before throwing her the scowl that had temporarily vanished from my face. I focused my eyes on the other bed with pink sheets and purple pillows.
