Dear readers,

I know this chapter isn't very long, but it is one of the most important. Alex and Brooke have come a long way and there is still a lot of drama to happen and a lot of heart-breaks to come. There is going to be a very important author's note very soon.

Thank you soooo much for reading my story. You have no idea just how much it means to me. I know I am a very amateur writer and probably need to fix a lot of things. So I appreciate any advices or tips. And as a matter of fact, I also need some song suggestions for this chapter. Don't forget to vote and maybe comment. It will mean a lot to me if you do.

Thanks!

Chapter 10

“Alex isn’t someone Amanda would want you to be with, you know?” Bryan said to me. We were walking to my English class together. Bryan had history, which lied on the way.

“What is the story?” I sighed loudly and rubbed my eyes. Amanda had stopped talking to me altogether, every contact has restricted to some disgusted glances that she passes my way.  It really hurts to think that the wonderful friendship that we had ended so quickly.

“I think it would be better if she tells you.”

I looked at Bryan. He had dark circles under his eyes and it seems as if the cheerful, sarcastic Bryan has reduced to a sulky one. It really kills me to think that it is all because of me.

And because of my dumb fate for always crossing my path with Alex’s.

A student pushed me on my left shoulder and I let out a loud groan. I had been lying down on one side of my poster bed just to avoid looking at the girl that I used to call my bestfriend once.

“ Alex isn’t a good guy Brooke.”

“ What makes you say that? All the time that I have spent with him, he didn’t let out any signals of being bad. Rude maybe, but not bad.”

“ Oh! Trust me, he is very good at pretending.” He snorted, his face hard. He seems to be thinking something and I felt a odd feeling in my chest. A protectiveness over Alex.

“ You don’t know Bryan.”

Bryan looked at me, his eyes hard.

“ He’ll play you just like he played her.”

Her?

“ Shelby?”

Bryan laughed loudly.

“ Shelby is a fool Brooke. Someone whom Alex considers as a past time, or a safe vault.”

What?

“ Trust me. You hang out with Hunter right? He knows enough. But I doubt how much he will tell you.”

Bryan said before giving me a tight smile and then taking the right turn to go to his class.

I walked to mine, my mind spinning with questions.

“ I cant tell you Brooke.” Hunter said sighing as he closed his locker with a loud slam.

“ Please Hunter? I need to know.” I literally begged him but he just shook his head, his brown hair falling over his eyes, giving him a very Alex-ish look.

The rest of the populars crowd, minus Shelby and Alex were glaring at us from a distance.

“ I just cannot. Its something only Alex or your friends can tell you.”
