The next week...

Today was going to be Ramin's first day at his new school.

He pulled on some black skinny jeans along with a superman tee shirt. He wasn't sure what U.S. schools were like. He was also scared that Sierra would be his only friend.

Once he got a quick bite to eat, he rushed outside with his stuff when he was greeted by Sierra.

"Thought you may have needed a ride for your first day." She smiled while holding up her car keys.

"That would be amazing. You've helped me a lot this past week." He responded while thinking about the week.

She took him around the city while showing him the main basics of the town.

Sierra stopped his thoughts as she grabbed his hand and brought him over to the car as they both got in. Sierra started the engine and started to drive towards the school.

"Once we get there," Sierra said breaking the silence, "I was thinking you could get your schedule and see which classes we have together and I can sort of show you around with what limited time we have." He nodded as they were pulling in.

They got out and walked over to the office, "I'm here with a new student who needs his schedule." Sierra explained to the office lady.

"I will need a name and grade." She responded back while opening a drawer.

"Ramin Karimloo. Senior." Ramin spoke up.

After a minute of rustling through papers, the lady pulled one out for Ramin, "There ya go."

"Thank you." Both Sierra and Ramin said in unison.

The schedule read:

7:30-8:20= History
8:23-9:09= English
9:13-10:00= Choir
10:03-10:50= French
10:50-11:23= Lunch
11:30-12:17= Chemistry
12:20-1:08= Math
1:12-2:00= Drama
2:05-2:35= Study Hall

Sierra read through his schedule, "Looks like we have history, English, choir, French... yup! Every class together." She had a bright smile as she took them to their first class. History.

Once they got in and sat down next to each other, the first bell rang. Ramin watched as everyone stood up while saying some sort of pledge while having their hand over their chest. Ramin stood up, but didn't do anything.

After everyone sat down, the teacher stood up, "Good morning class! Ah, I see we have a new student. My name is Mr. Blak and I'd like you to introduce yourself."

Ramin stood up, "Umm.. my name's Ramin Karimloo-"

He was stopped by a random kid in the front row, "What kind of accent is that?"

"Please do not ask him questions till he's done, Hadley!" Mr. Blak snapped at the boy who's name was Hadley.

"No, it's fine." Ramin reassured, "I was born in Iran, but grew up in Canada. So I have a different kind of accent."

"No wonder he didn't do anything during the pledge." Some girl on the back yelled.

"Now Rosealine, he had a good reason for why he didn't." Mr. Blak said.

Ramin sat down while he knew he was probably blushing like crazy.

"Any questions from you guys from our new student?" Mr. Blak looked around as he saw no hands were raised, "Okay. Today, class, we will be talking about the French Revolution. Does anyone know anything about it?" He looked around again as he saw a hand go up, "Yes, Hadley?"

"There's a musical about it." Hadley said as some snickering and whispering was heard.

"True. But what was it?" He looked around the room again as he saw Sierra's hand, "Sierra?"

"The French Revolution was a period of far-reaching far-reaching social and political upheaval in France that lasted from 1789 until 1799, and was partially carried forward by Napoleon during the later expansion of the French Empire."

"Very good. The people who were low on the social status wanted everyone to be equal. They risked everything. Even their lives."

The class continued on as the bell had finally run. Everyone filed out of the class and walked to their next.

English was the same deal. Ramin had to introduce himself and then learning. They learned about the difference between complete sentences and fragments.

Now, it was Choir. He watched as Sierra walked over to the soprano section and talked to some of her friends.

Ramin went over to the choir director who's name was Mr. Axsom and told him he was a tenor.

When he sat down in his section, the Hadley kid from History sat next to him, "You sing, Canadian Boy?" Hadley asked, chuckling.

"Yeah. Probably better than you can too!" Ramin snapped. But he didn't know where that came from. Ramin didn't even think he could sing that well. For all he knew, Hadley would be much better than him.

"Getting snappy?" Hadley chuckled again, "Then we need to do a sing off or something like that."

Ramin laughed, "Yeah. Sure."

"I'm not joking. We really do." Hadley gently punched Ramin's shoulder, "How about after school? I can take ya to my place."

Ramin shrugged, "Sure. But I'll have to tell Sierra."

"Boggess? Man you're lucky! But you'll have to be careful around her, Tam Mutu is a ruff guy." Hadley warned.

"I know, I kno-" Ramin was stopped by the bell as the room turned silent.

Mr. Axsom stood in front of the classroom and made Ramin introduce himself. Not only that, but he had to go up and sing.

Ramin went to the front of the class nervously as everyone stared at him.

"What song are you going to sing?" Mr. Axsom asked.

"How about 'I Dreamed A Dream' from Les Misérables?" Ramin suggested as Axsom nodded and started the music.

I dreamed a dream in time gone by
When hope was high
And life worth living
I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving

Then I was young and unafraid
And dreams were made and used and wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No song unsung
No wine untasted

But the tigers come at night
With their voices soft as thunder
As they tear your hope apart
As they turn your dream to shame

She slept a summer by my side
She filled my days with endless wonder
He took my childhood in her stride
But she was gone when autumn came
And still I dream she'll come to me
That we will live the years together
But there are dreams that cannot be
And there are storms we cannot weather

I had a dream my life would be
So different from this hell I'm living
So different now from what it seemed
Now life has killed
The dream I dreamed

The room flooded with applause and even a standing ovation. Ramin didn't think he did that good as he knew he was blushing, he rushed to his seat and sat down.

"You really can sing Canadian Boy." Hadley teased.

Ramin shook is head, "I really didn't think I did that good.

"Says the guy who has every girl looking at him. Ramin, you're becoming popular throughout the hour." Hadley said as Ramin just shrugged

The bell finally rang as everyone got out of the classroom.
