A Missing Soul

Chapter 8

Soul watched as the sun dived down beneath the world, forcing him into darkness. The sky was surrounded by stars, with the crescent moon in the center. But he wasn't looking at the sky, he gazed off ahead of him towards the cliff walls where he had fallen.

All he could think about was that maybe if he returns the spot that maybe, just maybe he could find a way back up. As he got closer...the sound of footsteps ran through his sensitive ears. He froze in place, and looked through the corner of his eye.

"You really couldn't just wait until I got back could ya?" Phoenix mutters before appearing directly in front of him.

Soul backed away, "I need to find Maka" He turned away and started to walk back towards the cliff.

"And you think your going to find her in the condition your in?" Phoenix said without turning around.

Soul kept on walking, "It's better than not searching for her at all" 

"OK, then go ahead and climb up the easily breakable wall. Then, just as you reach the top she's going to be standing there waiting for you with open arms" He said sarcastically.

Souls stopped walking and stared down at the ground, "Do you have any better ideas you sarcastic asshole?"

 "Hey!" He appeared in front of Soul once again. "I didn't need to save your bloody life, I could have et you died and what would have happened to your friend then?" he waited for a response...but none was given, "Exactly, now if you want my help fine...I just hope this hasn't been a waste of my time" He turns away and walks towards a hill at the end of the wall.

"Where are you going?" Soul muttered with such hatred.

Phoenix turned around and smiled as if none of that had just happened, "To save your friend, now are you coming?"

Soul did a slight smirk before limping towards his companion.
