Chapter 8

The night was dark with letting the stars light the path outside, I carefully crossed my arms over each other as I stared at the lonely night. My heart felt more tight and constricted with slight movement.

I grasped another long look at the stars before I heard the door open the footsteps very hesitate and light as they came to a stop. "Aphrodite." The deep voice came from behind me, it was lightly trembling with evidence of fear in the tone.

I turned to the voice seeing as Caden nervously tangled his fingers behind his back and focused his eyes onto the ground, "yes." My mood was very bland and not focused as I drifted in and out of my thoughts.

"Well, we have decided to have dinner now, King Xavier had wished to invite you down." His tone soft, 'King Xavier? What about that other dude, what was i- Braxton! Right he didn't come looking for you.' Siren seemed suspicious and voice another thought I never seemed to care about.

'Wasn't he the one who said he was able to have other females whenever he wanted.' Siren grumbled, the silence from Anastasia made me think a bit further. I bit the inside of my cheek as my finger subconsciously clenched onto the hems of my dress.

'Piece of shit.' She seemed to be much more annoyed, I grinded my teeth together as I recalled the moment from yesterday. He had said that, but I hadn't given too much of a thought on it at all, in fact I completely ignored it.

My insides tightened with a feeling of betrayal and anger as I looked at Caden who was shaking a bit as he stared at me. His eyes widened as he looked to me, "A-Aphrodite, y-your eyes." He pointed to me.

I gasped as I turned around facing the wall, "I am not hungry." I rushed out in a hurry, "but K-" The words slipped past my lips without a filter, "I said I am not hungry!" The objects within the room shook, some objects dropping to the floor, clattering as the glass shattered onto my feet.

My emotions began to rile up, this seemed to real, 'calm down.' Anastasia's light voice spoke, her voice was fluttering gently across my mind easing my rushing blood that pounded loudly in my ears.

The thumping footsteps echoed in the hallway, and without another word the door slammed open revealing two large figures followed by a few. My eyes locked with the two men, Xavier and Braxton, I blew out the anger through my nostrils.

'You're honestly a complete idiot, I thought you knew what he said, but turns out you seem to be more naive than I think.' Siren grumbled with annoyance, 'stop. He never meant it, you shouldn't be like that.' Anastasia responded softly.

I head than began to pound with their voices as they flew through my head back and forth, 'shut up. Dumbass angel, you don't know what Aphrodite needs in her life.' She shouted at the frustrated angel.

'Really!? What can you know from a girl like you! You're evil! Nothing but evil! All you think about is killing others and violence, yet you think you know better than me! It's always a given seeing as you are a demon.' Her voice was enraged and had anger rolling off in large waves, my insides curled as I heard her words.

There was a dark pitiful laugh from Anastasia, 'did you honest forget who you were in your last life, nothing more than a little whore.' I froze at her words, t-the words Anastasia spoke of were suppose to be unfamiliar to her lips, they were suppose to never exist in her vocabulary.

Siren was quite. S-Stop, you t-two. 'Y-you know nothing about me!' Siren's voice cracked, my heart slowly breaking at her voice. She was a strong and bold female and always was in command, it was very uncommon for her to show her weakness much less have a serious fight like this with Anastasia.
