Chapter 9

My fingers wandered along the cold glass, the wind from outside fluttered inside the room creating an slight cold temperature to circulate around the room. I brushed my hair back as I looked down, seeing the sight of an group of wolves dash out from the woods coming towards the building I was in.

I narrowed my eyes at them. "Alpha Braxton!" One of the them shouted as he quickly changed into his human form, I turned away from the window seeing as I made eye contact with one of the men, he looked at me with wide eyes.

I pushed away from the window and opened the door, seeing as a person was situated outside Caden stood directly in front the door, his eyes widened as he walked forward to me his posture straightening.

I stared at him, it had been two days since I had come out of the room. I had been trying to contact Siren and Anastasia but they both shut me out, it hurt a lot, seeing as I was always the one who shut them out constantly. Ever since the arugement they had they hadn't talked and I sat in the room trying to get through either one of them, though it seemed their lips are sealed tightly.

"Aphrodite." He greeted me with a bright smile as he handed me a small plate, it had similar food as to what they served in Heaven and Hell, toast and eggs. I sighed as I picked up the toast and took a small bite, the taste was plain and hadn't tingled my taste buds at all.

"Where is Braxton and Xavier?" I asked gently, his sandy blonde hair was gelled to the side today unlike when I first had seen him he looked to me more inoccent and pure, though he looked more tough and professional.

He gulped, "they are in the meeting room." I stared at him awaiting his next words, "they are currently in an meeting." I raised an eyebrow, my feelings had told me something was wrong as to why those wolves seemed to be concerned.

"Well. Lead me their." I pointed, he bit the inside of his cheek, "they told me to-" He looked to my face seeing as I glared at him. He nodded as he began to walk ahead, I kept my lips sealed until we became closer to the meeting room.

My feet echoed in the halls as we walked, "what is the meeting about?" I asked, curious of his answer I walked beside him. His shoulder became more stiff as he glanced at me, he took another deep breath before speaking.

"I have heard brief details about the borders having sightings of different-unusual creatures." I brushed my hair away as I listened closer, "the patrol would often say they would find a body of anyone, human, wolf and even vampires that would be found to be ripped to shreds." I gulped at his words, a shiver crawling up on my spine as if I knew what this was.

No. That's impossible. She wouldn't have that thing around here, I mean why would it be around here when she's in Hell and that thing is with her.

"It looked as if someone h-" I took a deep breath and finished the end of the sentence, "devoured the person." Caden looked at me with wide eyes and a shocked expression, I bit the inside of my cheek.

"H-How do you know that?" He stopped walked looking at me, "I might know what it is. And if that creature is here, bad things are going to happen." I shuttered at the thought I looked ahead as I began to walk faster, a part of me inside wishing I was entirely wrong.

Because if that creature was here, it meant she was coming.

We turned the next corner seeing as an group of men aruged with the two guards at the front, I glanced at Caden who looked uncertain to me. I narrowed my eyes as I walked closer and faster to them, "you have to let us in. It was another body that appeared!" One of the men shouted.
