Emily’s POV

I don’t think she was supposed to but, the nurse let me in Mika’s hospital room. I walked over to his side. Things about him started flying back to my brain. I started remembering who he was. His name. His voice. Oh yeah… he was a singer that I was in love with. I touched his hands which were resting peacefully by his side. They were cold as ice. His closed eyes were marked with black and blue circles around the bottom. His lips, purple. His head was wrapped tightly with white bandages. You could see blood stains all of them. His right leg was elevated and wrapped up in a cast. His white dress shirt was wrinkled and buttoned down exposing his muscular chest and stomach. I started remembering the day we met. We were outside a performing arena. I was about to jump off of a bridge. Then my guardian angel came to save me.

“Mika. Now I remember you.” I watched the heart monitor. His beat was steady but to my horror, was very slow. The doctors came in and were shocked to see me.

“Who let you in here? Mika is to have to no visitors at this time.” One of the intelligent looking doctors stepped toward me.

“Emily? Get back to your room. How did you get here? You ought to be resting!” he was my doctor. I explained how I came to see Mika after hearing about his accident on the news. A few flashes came from the window. I looked to see a camera take another. The doctors blocked the window and told me they would have to take a look and “Michael” before I could come a visit him again.

I walked outside to  go back to my room but reporters and photographers were swarming.

“Are the Emily everyone is talking about?”

“Yes! She’s dating Mika!”

“How has this been going on?”

“How did you two meet?”

“How old are you?”

“How’s Mika?”

“Are you a fan of Mika?”

“Is it true that he is fourteen years older than you?”

“Where are you from?”

I couldn’t stand all the flashes and questions! I tried to push past all of them. A few security guards shooed them all away although they still had pictures of me and Mika in that hospital room.

“Geez, that has never happened to me before.” I muttered to myself. I walked back to my room and found Jessie, my co-worker best friend, sitting outside the door.

“Emily!” she exclaimed while hugging me tightly.

“Jessie! What are you doing here?” I asked her.

“Your mum called and told me EVERYTHING! I decided I couldn’t wait till morning to pay you a visit at the hospital!” she said as we walked into my room. I explained all the things that happened tonight. She was shocked. She knew that I loved Mika. She was crying with me when I explained the accident that showed up on the news. She went ahead and told me everything that I forgot since the Ketamine was pumped into my veins. She pulled out her phone and played what was supposedly my favorite Mika song.

“We are not what you think we are, we are golden, we golden!” we were chanting together once I started remembering the lyrics. After that I was so damn tired. She allowed me to sleep and before she left she kissed my forehead and promised to come back first thing in the morning tomorrow. Soon, everything fell silent and black.

(Next morning)

Mika’s POV

Beep beep… beep beep. Beep beep………..

“Mika? Wake up dear. Mika?”

My eyelids… were so… heavy. I could barely lift them open. The bright white light sliced through the small crack of my eyes. The light was… blinding. I reached my hands out a little. I felt something. Something cool. I shut my eyes. They were too heavy. I fell back asleep…I think. I had a massive headache. I felt so hung over. I tried to imagine what this place could be. It was a white, cold room. What could it be? I sat up quickly when I remembered what had happened. Something yanked back at my head.

“Owwwwww.” I screamed. My eyes flew open. The white sheets around me were getting a red substance on them. I felt it. It was blood. It was flowing from my head. I moved my arms which were injected with many things. Seeing all of those needles in my arm made me feel faint. I looked down to my feet. One of them, my right one I believe, was elevated and wrapped tightly with white bandages. I wiggled my toes and pins and needles shot up my leg. I looked up when I heard someone, a male, clear his throat. I saw several sets of eyes staring back at me.

“What am I doing here?” I asked sounding dazed.

“Mika you were hit by a car of few nights ago. Your leg is broken and you cracked your skull very slightly.  Soon after you fell into a three day coma.” I heard a masculine voice say to me gently. I remember now. I remember… getting wasted at a pub…I couldn’t get my mind off of…of…

“EMILY!” I yelled. “Where is she? Is she alright? Does she remember me? Emily? Oh Emily? Where is she?!” I asked the doctor pulling on his white coat.

“Mika, she’s been waiting here for days. Is it okay if she comes in to say hi?” he asked me.

“YES! PLEASE!” I shouted. The doctor left and the most beautiful woman I had ever known walked in. She looked a little different. She tired. She was in black, ripped jeans, and a large white sweater.

“Mika? You’re awake!” she screamed. She came running at me and I caught her in a loving hug. I held her precious face in my hands. I didn’t want her to slip away like sand through my fingers. She was crying.

“Why the tears love?” I asked her quietly.

“I-I was so worried about you. During the past days I’ve been starting to remember you. And the things we said. And everything you mean t-to me, Mika. I love you so much. I’m so sorry I didn’t remember you earlier.” I started tearing up too. She remembered me. Thank God. She stopped crying and smiled. She was so… perfect. I couldn’t stop staring into her gorgeous blue eyes. I loved her so much. I could feel all the love and happiness pouring through my skin. I didn’t even realize it, but I slammed my lips onto hers. I felt my tongue slip through, and hers did the same. It felt so good to have Emily back.
