Chapter Ten:

Cassidy shook her head stubbornly.  Her lips stayed clamped together and her arms stayed crossed tightly across her chest.

“Stop messing around,” Officer Clyde hissed, reaching for Cassidy.  He wrapped his fist in her hair and tugged her head down.  Cassidy whimpered through her closed lips.

Officer Clyde’s sick satisfied smirk grew larger when he saw Cassidy shift her lips.  She bit down on her bottom lip before finally pulling away.

  “Start talking,” Officer Clyde said.

“I didn’t do it,” Cassidy said.  “And that is what I will keep saying until I can get a lawyer present as well as my parents.”

Officer Clyde growled in frustration.  “Listen you bitch,” He started and Cassidy gasped before frowning, “I need you to admit to doing this so I can look important on the force.  And because I need a good alibi.”

Cassidy stared at him in shock.

Officer Clyde gripped her chin with his hand.  “And if you tell anyone I said that then you’ll end up just like Alexandria you little bitch,” He said with a snarl.

He released Cassidy who pushed the chair backwards.  She watched Officer Clyde carefully as he crossed his ankles and arms.  His eyes were hooded and half-closed.  Cassidy carefully stood up and then when Officer Clyde didn’t do anything she jumped away.

She ran out the door and bumped into somebody.  “Oh thank god,” She said sighing, “I was trapped in a room with a psycho! He admitted to killing Alexandria and he said I would end up just like her!”  Cassidy took a deep breath and looked up to find herself staring into Officer Clyde’s eyes.

Her own eyes grew wider.  With a squeak she turned and tried to run.  Officer Clyde caught her upper arm gently.

“Say that again,” He instructed calmly.

“You-you threatened to murder me just like you murdered Alexandria!” Cassidy exclaimed struggling to free her arm.

Officer Clyde looked at her in surprise that seemed too real to be faked.  “That’s preposterous,” He said.  “I’m a police officer.  I enforce the law; I don’t break it.”

  “You did,” Cassidy said.

“Calm down,” Officer Clyde said as Cassidy started shrieking and twisting her arm around.  “What’s your name?”

“I’m Cassidy Reynolds,” Cassidy said getting frustrated and annoyed.  “And I don’t enjoy conversing with killers!”

She finally pulled her arm free and turned and ran back the way she’d come.  She ran into the room and saw Officer Clyde still in his chair.

Footsteps behind Cassidy made her spin and see…Officer Clyde.  Cassidy’s head was starting to pound as she tried to process the information.

“Andrew?” Officer Clyde said as he looked at his sleeping double.

The sleeping Officer Clyde stirred and then smiled a twisted grin.  “Clyde, my brother,” He said, “Aren’t you proud of what I’ve accomplished?”

Officer Clyde stepped closer to his brother.  “Andrew did you murder Alexandria Mitchells?” He asked angrily.

Andrew nodded brightly, his head bobbing back and forth too much.

  “Why?” Officer Clyde asked.

Andrew shrugged making Cassidy whimper.  “She was a nosy bitch,” He said.

“That doesn’t mean you resort to murder!” Clyde snapped.

Cassidy let out a loud gasp and then realized her mistake. She clapped her hands to her mouth with a loud smack.

Andrew and Officer Clyde both turned to stare at her.

“I’m sorry,” Cassidy said as she started to move slowly towards the closed door.  “I’ll just be going now,” She said.

Andrew let out a bark of laughter and then pointed his gun in Cassidy’s direction.  “I don’t think so,” He said.  “She knows too much,” He told his brother before he aimed the gun at Cassidy’s head.

Cassidy let out a terrified squeak as Andrew’s finger pulled on the trigger.
