••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• SEVERIN'S POV ••••••••••••••••••••••

I sit and gently stroke the hair of both Spyke and Skyler. After the battle between Ciro and Spyke we brought them back to the house. It was just after Spyke collapsed that I found him, an I fear I might have been to late if I haven't found him in time.

It is still very uncertain as to whether the boys will awaken anytime soon, or if they will awaken at all. Well at least that's what the warlock said, but I know they both shall awaken. My soul would tell me if this was truly the end of them, I know it would.

"Any change?" Rayven asks quietly as he enters the room. "No nothing yet, but soon I hope."

Rayven chuckles lowly, but stops when I flash him a dark glare. "I'm sorry father, I can't help it, I can not remember a time in which you ever hoped for anything. Nor do I ever recall in all my existence with you, for you to ever be so, well loving I suppose." As he says his last words he inclines his head towards my hands which are still gently and almost lovingly, just as he said, stroking the twins hair as I sit between them both on the bed with my legs stretched out alongside them.

Once pointed out to me I do accept the fact that I have never once shown affection, not even to the child before me, my son. "Why is it father that they matter so much to you? You have known always why they are so important to myself, and now what Skyler means to Kin, an yet I have no knowledge what their meaning is to you." As Rayven spoke he walked closer to the bed, looming down at me, with a gleam in his dark and beautiful eyes.

"They mean the ending to my suffering, just a means to an end." I calmly state as I drop my hands from their blonde heads and fold them neatly in my lap. "Now tell me child, how is my brother?" Rayven's eyes drop slightly to the ground, then after a moments hesitation continues. "He's still in a state it would appear, and I fear that nothing will change until his mate awakens."

"Well then, what do you say we give them a little help?" I find myself grinning when Rayven's face shown with shock. "You can't be serious! Don't you think we have given them enough? We don't know what could happen if given to much of our blood. Would you truly risk it?"

I pretend to think for a moment, though there honestly is no need, I have my mind made up. "Of course I would! I mean come now what's the worst that could happen?"

•••••••••••••••••••• SKYLER'S POV ••••••••••••••••••

I feel like I'm surrounded by fog, my movements are slower then the normal, and my mind feels almost lost within itself. It's the most unpleasant feeling I have ever experienced, and I'm ready for it to simply end.

I push myself, harder than I have ever had to before, and finally its almost like I break the surface of the water, and with a large gulp of air I return to reality.

My eyes open, but close once more when the light hurts them, and just like that the brightness is gone. That's when I become aware of the fact that I'm not alone wherever I am. I slowly peek my eyes open once more, to see that the source of light has disappeared and its now dark within the room. I know I'm laying on a bed by the feel of the sheet beneath my firmly clasped hands.
