🌜After my last update I recieved several messages asking if I was confused, if I used the wrong names, even if I was crazy. Answers are no, no and absolutely! I. Crazier than the mad hatter, but it works for me, lol. Trust me everyone it will all be reveled, all in its time, after all it wouldn't be much of a series if it was all here and now. Song to the side not only is wonderful but could shed some light on your thoughts.🌛
•••••••••••••••••••• KIN'S POV •••••••••••••••
It has been three days now since Skyler and Spyke almost died, and everything seems to be back to normal, except for my brother.
He trains the new recruits, he takes his watches when needed and even takes supply duty, but he won't come anywhere near anyone if its not needed of him. This is the way my brother was for many centuries after my father passed, the very night he told us of our destinies.
It took him 400 years to return to a semblance of normal then, I can only hope for the sake of all those depending on him that it doesn't take that long to return to us this time. I just wish I knew what it was that has stolen him away again, I have asked several times and every time his response is the same, nothing in which to trouble myself with.
He has not yet come to terms with the fact that anything that affects him, affects the group as a whole. There can be no personal issues, no troubles, and above all else there must be trust and truth. I learned that the hard way, things would have been easier if I had only been honest with everyone. I must admit that Severin has not lied, he just omits the truth when asked directly, which is only a sliver better than what I did.
Currently I'm walking the border, trying to clear my mind and hoping to run into Severin. I have made it almost fully around when I hear soft humming coming from the trees ahead of me, and I know by the scent that I have found who I was looking for. Once aware of my presence he stops humming, and waits patiently for me to make myself known.
"Hello brother, I trust you dog d nothing on your expedition?" I ask, though its not what I really want to know. "I wouldn't be here if there was, there is only one place that I belong at times like that. Now why don't you ask me what you really want to know?" He states while leaping down from the nook in the tree where he was sitting.
He may have given me the opening, but I'm aware that the moment I try to slip in he will slam the door closed once more, but I'm becoming desperate. I new to k ow what is wrong with my brother before its to late. "What is really bothering you?" There was the loaded question, and my brother is many things but he has never been a liar.
After a long and pregnant pause, in which I began to lose hope that he would ever speak, even if only to avoid my question, he ran his hand through his hair, and let lose the breath he had been holding.
"The day father told us of our destines, there was something he never told you, and something I was always to stubborn to. I had it all in my mind that I wouldn't allow it to come to pass so there was never a thing to be worried about, but I see now how truly foolish I was for ever thinking I could prevent it from becoming truth."
••••••••••••••••••••• SKYLER'S POV •••••••••••••••••••
It has been two days since I spoke to Severin, not by my choice, but he seems detour mined to avoid everyone. I have been training harder than ever before, not just to prepare for the upcoming battles, but to remove my mind from the thoughts running rapid through it.
I just keep seeing the pain, hearing his words. No one should ever feel like that, and it cuts deeper because I care so much for him. He has become the family I never had, along with Kin, Rayven, and so many of those who have came to stand beside me.
