Chapter Five

Mullen pov

"So your going back to America?" Harry asked. I shrugged "why?" He asked. I shrugged again. "Yo, stupid talk to me!" Harry yelled, he was laying on my bed throwing a ball in the air and catching it. I sighed "my dads coming to town, I don't know how he found us" I said and Harry shot up, looking at me, wide-eyed. "You're kidding!" He screeched, I shook my head "no, B told me" I said "since when is Brennan in England?" He asked "he came to visit his girlfriend" I said "not you?" I scoffed "since when does my family care about seeing me?" I asked, he sighed "I'm sorry" he said.

"But you can't go back, what are you going to tell Kara? Or Ed?" He asked "Ed? Why would he care?" I asked "I just know he will, he feels for you, you may not know it but he does!" Harry argued "we can deal with your dad together, like every time we do! Just please don't leave!" Harry begged "H, I have too, I miss home and I really don't want to see my father, he...did things" I said, he shook his head "I understand, I'll go back with you" he said, nodding his head. "No, no, no, I can't ask you to do that" I said "your not doing that" I said. "Too bad, I am anyway" he said "Harry" I whined "what if Louis doesn't want to go?" I asked "he will, he loves you just as much as I do" he said with a smile. I shook my head "Harry-" I started "nope, nope shut up, we're coming along, you can't say anything!" He said, sticking his nose in the air.

I laughed "fine!" I said "yes! I've always wanted to live in the States!" Harry laughed, there was a knock at the door, interrupting Harry's freak out. "Will you two shut up we're trying to watch a movie!" Kara snapped, sticking her head in the door. "Sorry" we both mumbled. She rolled her eyes and closed the door, we both burst out laughing "did you see her face!?" Harry laughed "it was priceless!" I said, we both broke into another fit of laughter "shut up!" Kara yelled. We closed out mouthed and tried to stop laughing, but failed and ended up laughing again.

"Are you coming over?" Harry asked, putting his coat on. I shrugged, shaking my head "mmm, not tonight, I'll call you tomorrow though" I said. He nodded and smiled "alright, goodnight" "goodnight" I said. I sighed as I sat down on the couch "you okay?" Ed asked, I looked over at him, startled "uh um yeah, I'm fine, just thinking" I said, he smiled sitting down next to me "thinking about what?" He asked. I shook my head "nothing, nothing you need to worry about" I said "are you okay?" He asked. I nodded, then shook my head "no, but I will be, hopefully" I said. He furrowed his eyebrows "what do you mean?" He asked "I- its- it's complicated" I said "I've got time" he said "not that much" I said, getting up "goodnight Ed" I said "wait, don't leave" he said.

"Why?" I asked and he shrugged, looking at his feet. I chuckled "I'm joking" I said and he looked up and smiled "so you'll stay out here with me?" He asked "uh-" I started "what are you doing with my boyfriend now?" Kara asked, walking into the room. I felt the anger rise in my body. I cleared my throat "well, uh I'm gonna go to bed" I looked at Ed "goodnight" I said. His eyes dropped back to the flood as I walked away.

Ed pov

"What is your problem?" I asked, turning to Kara. She knitted her eyebrows together "what do you mean? She was getting on you" she said. I shook my head "no, she wasn't, we were talking. I think she's going through something" I told her "she's always going through something!" Kara said "what do you mean?" I asked and she shook her head "just forget about it, about her. She's got Harry to get her through that shit, its not your responsibility" she said, I felt a pang just hit my chest hearing Harry's name in that sentence.

"Fine" I grumbled, sitting back down on the couch. She sat next to me and laid her head on my chest "so, what do you want to do?" She asked, I shrugged "I was thinking about heading home, I have a meeting with Stu tomorrow morning" I said. She sighed "what is it with you and my sister?" She asked. I furrowed my eyebrows "nothing, its just she seems...sad" I said, she rolled her eyes "she's fine" she said. I silently nodded, getting up from the couch.

She followed my actions "well, I'll see you later then" she said, leaning in and connections our lips. "Goodnight" I said, grabbing my coat.

I got home to my dark, quiet apartment, I live alone, unless you count my three cats.

I can't stop thinking about what Kara said about Mullen, I can't stop thinking about Harry and Mullen. What was that about today? I'm so confused. I want to know what happened to Mullen to make her so...distant from everyone. Was it that bad? God I need to stop, I need to stop thinking about her, its wrong. I'm dating her sister for fuck sake! I groaned as I pulled at me hair.

I pulled my phone out and looked through my contacts for 'Mullen'. I found it and clicked the call button. It rang three times before she picked up.

'Hello?' Her voice rang. I smiled

'Hey, I thought I'd call just to make sure you were okay...from you know, earlier" I said, I heard her sigh

'Thank you, Ed, it means a lot' she said.

'So, are you okay?' I asked

'I'm fine, yeah...I'm just tired' she said, I nodded, even though she can't see me

'Hey, did you wanna do something?' I asked

'What? Now?' She asked

'Yup, now'

'Like what?'

'I'll pick you up, be ready' I said hanging up.

I'm going to get to know this girl that caught my attention the first time I saw her.

These chapters are going to be shorter but the book is going to be super long, so there will be a lot to read, I promise.
