Chapter Twenty Three

Mullen pov

"Hello?" I asked.

"Hey, its Harry" he said into the phone.

"I know, I have caller ID" I laughed.

"I just wanted to call and tell you that I'm sorry I left so early, it was...important?" He said

"Okay? Its fine I don't mind" I said

"So, what's up?" He asked

"Nothing much, just watching tv" I said

"Same, I'm just waiting for Louis to come back" Harry said.

"I'm waiting for Kara to come home so I can go meet Andy" I said

"Whoa, whoa you're going to meet Andy? What about the whole 'being in love with Ed thing?'" He asked.

"Its not a date, okay? We're just meeting up as...friends" I said

"Sure, okay" Harry said

"Its not, I don't really like him like that, do you think I should tell him?" I asked, Harry scoffed.

"Yes! You should" He laughed.

"Okay I will" I said.

"Yeah, let me know how that goes" he said

"Yeah, I will" I sighed.

After we hung up, Kara walked into the door, with Ed. We made eye contact as he turned to shut the door, his eyes stared into mine. I was frozen, I couldn't process anything. Kara cleared her throat "god, what is up with you two?" She asked. I smiled nervously "um, n-nothing" I said, getting up off the couch. "I'm uh, going out. I'll be home later" I said. "Oh, ok, wait where are you going?" She asked, she never asked me that. Why now? "Um, uh...Harry's?" I said, more of a question, I looked over at Ed, he made a face, telling me he didn't believe me. "Okay?" She said. I nodded and looked at Ed one more time, before walking to my room.

I grabbed my jacket off my bed and rushed out the door. But Ed stopped me before I could actually leave. "Where are you going?" He asked, softly "that's none of your business" I said, walking past him and towards the front door. "Wait." He demanded, grabbing my hand. I stopped, looking at out hands, then at his face. "What?" I asked, softly "I-I'm sorry. For everything, I was a huge ass dick. I was stupid. I'm sorry" he rushed out. I sighed, slowly taking my hand out of his. "I know Ed, its fine" I said "no, its not!" He yelled, suddenly. I jumped "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have yelled" he said. I nodded, tucking a piece of hair behind my ear. "Yeah...I really should get going" I said. He nodded "okay, but first can I ask you a question?" Ed asked. I closed my eyes and sighed "did you really mean it when you said you loved me?" He asked.

I nodded "yes, I did" I said, opening the door and walking out.

Ed pov

She really meant it, the question that has been swimming around in my head for days was answered. I'm so happy, yet sad, because knowing she feels the same about me and we can't be together, hurts. I stood there for a moment, shocked. Before I finally got the nerve to run after her.

"Wait, Mullen stop!" I yelled, catching up to her. She stopped at her car and raised her eyebrows. "What is it-" she started, before I crashed my lips agains hers. We moved out lips together, I loved the warm feeling that ran through my body. I pulled away and looked into her eyes "I really do love you" I whispered "um" she breathed "I know, we can't be together or anything, but I just wanted you to know. I love you, so much" I whispered. She closed her eyes and sighed "I love you too" she whispered. I smiled "I'm sorry for lying to you" I told her "I know, it's okay" she said "no, its really not, I hurt you" I whispered, taking a step closer to her "I survived" she whispered.

I chuckled "I know, you're good at that" I said, getting even closer to her. "I've had lots of practice" she said, I furrowed my eyebrows "what's that supposed to mean?" I asked, she shook her head "nothing, just don't worry about it" she said. I shook my head "no, really, what's it supposed to mean?" I asked "I didn't have a very good childhood, okay?" She asked. I nodded "okay" I whispered, getting even closer, our lips we're touching, just barley, but touching.

"We shouldn't be doing this" she whispered against my lips. "I don't care" I whispered back, she chuckled "of course you don't" she said. I kissed her again "god, I could get used to this" I whispered "yeah, well don't because it can't keep happening" she said "I know" I whined. I wrapped my arms around her waist "but it can happen right now" I said, pointedly. She smiled and shook her head "you're crazy" she laughed "I know" I whispered.

"I should really go" she whispered "fine, but can I have one more kiss, please?" I asked, she nodded "one more" I smiled as I leaned in and connected our lips. She moved closer to my, deepening the kiss. I smiled and tightened my hold on her waist "this is amazing" I whispered "don't talk" she said, reconnecting our lips.

Then I heard it the flash of a camera.

These guys can't catch a break can they?
