Gabriel walks Sam to his next class, and Sam can't express how grateful he is. Not only is he afraid of getting lost, but he doesn't want to be the kid that's lost all alone. His day has been too good, and he's just waiting for the time it changes. It has to change. No day can be this good.
"Oh, hey, that's my sister!" Gabriel tells him as they arrive at Sam's class. He waves enthusiastically at someone, but Sam doesn't know who it is until he sees a redhead waving back.
"Hey!" she says, coming over to the doorway. "Whatcha doing here?"
"Bringing this kid around," Gabriel replies, nudging Sam. "Sam, this is Anna, Anna, this is Sam."
"Hi Sam!" Anna says energetically.
"Hey," Sam replies shyly.
"Gotta get to class bye!" Gabriel says quickly and rushed away.
Anna laughs as she watched her brother leave. "He usually isn't like that, but his teacher is a witch," she tells him. "Like, people actually joke and say she uses magic, because no one can be that mean on their own."
Sam laughs. "That's awesome," he says. "I've heard stories of people hating teachers, but that one is gold."
Anna laughs and nods. "Oh yeah, definitely the worst teacher in the school. Hey, come on, sit next to me."
Sam follows her to her desk and sits in the seat next to it. They're in the middle of the room, which isn't Sam's favorite, but at least they aren't in the front. Sam doesn't really mind sitting here now, though. Anna seems pretty cool.
"So, if you met Gabriel, you would have just had... Um... Latin, right?" she asks.
Sam nods. "Do you know his entire schedule?" he asks, amused.
"I mostly know all my brothers' schedules," she replies. "Mostly so I know where to find some of them and how to avoid others."
Sam laughs. "Oh, yeah, I've heard about your brothers."
"How about you?" She asks. "Do you have any siblings?"
"Yeah, I've got an older brother," Sam tells her.
"Wait, are you Dean's brother?" she asks, sounding excited.
"Um... Yes I am," Sam replies, confused. "How did you know?"
"I saw him earlier today," she tells him. "He told me he had a brother, but he didn't say 'Sam.' He just said brother. I wasn't expecting you to be in my classes though.
"Well, life is full of surprises." Sam says.
Anna nods, a grin on her face. "And I've got to say, this is a welcome one."

Dean has never been so bored in his entire life. Luckily, the bell eventually rings, and he can get out of that hell hole as fast as humanly possible. He and Lucifer begin to head to the cafeteria, but he pauses when he sees Michael going the other way.
"Hey, where's your brother going?" Dean asks.
"He's hiding out-probably in the library," Lucifer tells him. "Doesn't like the crowds of the cafe."
Dean nods. "Ah, that makes sense."
They chat on the way to the cafeteria, mostly complaining that class is too boring. Dean doesn't even really know what class it was. He was too busy being bored to pay attention. The first person Dean sees at the cafeteria is Sam, standing with that girl he saw this morning. Anna, or something like that. Dean walks over to them quickly, followed by Lucifer. They sit down, Dean across from Sam with Lucifer next to him, across from Anna.
"Hey, Sammy, what's up?" Dean greets them.
"Sam," his brother corrects him immediately.
"Hey there, Anna," Lucifer says, sounding like he's about to tease her like he did to Castiel. Dean suddenly realizes that if Anna and Castiel are related, and Castiel and Lucifer are related, then Anna and Lucifer are sibling as well. "What-"
"No," Anna replies.
"But-"
"I said no," Anna repeats.
"Aw, come on, don't be like that!" Lucifer says.
"If you don't shut up, I'll tell Amara," Anna replies.
"Aw, Anna, you're no fun," Lucifer complains before turning to Sam. "And you're the infamous Sam. Nice to meet you. I'm Lucifer."
Sam nods as a greeting. He heard about Lucifer, and though Gabriel seems to like him, Anna says he's not the most fun person to hang with. Not sure who to believe, he sticks to the safe side and doesn't give Lucifer anything to laugh about.
"Hey, Anna," Dean greets her with a wink. "Wasn't expecting to see you over here."
"I'm sure you weren't," she replies. "Hold on, I'll be right back." She leaves quickly, and Lucifer smirks.
"Dude, you just got rejected by my sister!" he laughs.
"I think she's going over to that guy instead," Sam adds, not in a teasing way, but just to let him know.
"Ah, Castiel," Lucifer says. "Our little trench coat angel."
They watch as Anna talks to Castiel, who looks nervous. After a moment, Anna grabs his hand and drags him over to them, clearly not making Castiel feel any better.
"Hey, Cas!" Dean greets him, trying to sound as friendly as possible.
"Hello," Castiel replies awkwardly.
"Hey, Cassy, cheer up!" Lucifer tells him. "It's a party!"
Castiel glances at his brother, clearly unsure of how to react. Dean pats the bench next to him, hoping to save him from the awkward situation.
"Hey, Cas, have a seat," Dean says. "No need to stand around like a ghost."
Castiel nods and sits next to him, but far enough away to show Dean he's not comfortable with this arrangement. Dean can't help but feel bad for him. Usually, this is what Sam does. He's never been comfortable in large groups, though at the moment he doesn't seem to mind too much. It must be because he knows Anna already.
Suddenly, another bit comes bounding over to the table, a big smile on his face and a pile of skittles in his hand. He sits down next to Sam, and they exchange a smile.
"Hey, Samster!" he greets his friend.
"Hi, Gabriel!" Sam replies, equally as excited to see Gabriel as Gabriel is to see Sam.
"Oh, Dean, this is Gabriel," Sam tells him. "Gabriel, that's my brother Dean."
"Nice to meet ya!" Gabriel says. His sugar high is clear to everyone.
"Hey, the whole family's here!" Lucifer says.
"I think you're forgetting someone," Anna reminds him.
"Alright, hey! The whole social family is here!" Lucifer glances at Dean's friend. "Well, and Castiel."
"Hey, Castiel!" Gabriel greets him. "Wasn't expecting to see you here!"
Castiel shrugs. "I wasn't expecting to be here, either."
Gabriel laughs. "But you came anyway!" Gabriel observes. "That's the spirit!"
"Actually Anna dragged me over here," Castiel admits.
"Whatever works!" He turns to Anna. "Hey, how'd math go?"
"I got everything right!" she squeals. "All thanks to Castiel over here!"
"Ah, Castiel, always the genius we all needed."
Castiel looks down at the table when everyone turns to him. He really hates being the center of attention, whether it's positive or negative, and it's clear. Even in a group of six people, he'd rather no one look at him. Dean finds himself wishing Michael was here to draw people's attention from him as he did earlier.
"I'm so ready for my test tomorrow!" Anna adds. "I'm gonna ace that!" She pauses. "Or get a B, but probably not below a C! Thanks Castiel!"
Dean's watches Castiel. He's a curious kid, Dean thinks. Why would he be embarrassed about being smart? Or is it just people looking at him in general? He would have though Castiel would be used to it, with four siblings, but apparently not.
"So, what grades are you guys in?" Dean asks, just to draw attention away from him. He finds out Sam's the only freshman, Castiel and Anna are sophomores, Gabriel is a junior, and the other three; Lucifer, Michael and Dean are all seniors.
"So, are you guys twins?" Dean asks, mostly directed at Lucifer to keep Castiel out of the conversation he clearly doesn't want to take part in.
"No, we're all adopted," Anna says. "Our parents are siblings, so obviously if they were going to have kids, they'd adopt."
Dean nods to show heHe glances over at Sam, hoping someone else will help make the conversation, but Sam's too busy eating Gabriel's candy to pay any attention. Dean tries to hide his frustration as he searches for a new topic of conversation.
"How are you liking the school so far?" Anna asks.
"It sucks, doesn't it?" Lucifer says.
Dean shrugs, hoping to satisfy both of them with his answer. "Not so big on the school part of it, but some of the people seem pretty cool." Honestly, he hasn't met anyone other than the family he's sitting with, so other than them, he doesn't know how the other people at the school are.
"What do you do for fun?" Anna asks.
What does Dean do for fun? He takes a moment to think about it, but really, there's no answer for it. He loves Sammy, and helping his little brother is important, but is it fun? He hunts. That's definitely fun, however rare it is he gets to do it. Is that really it?
"I love hunting," Dean says finally.
"Like deer and rabbits and things?" Anna asks.
"Yeah, and things."
"Cool!" Anna replies. "How long have you been hunting?"
Dean remembers his first time hunting well, and, without going into detail, it definitely wasn't his best. "I was eight," Dean tells them. "I went with my dad."
"You were eight when you went hunting?" Sam asks, suddenly back in the conversation.
"Yeah, why?" Dean replies.
"I was twelve when Dad finally let me go hunting!" Sam complains.
"Yeah, well, I didn't talk about Sully when I was eight, so..."
Sam glares at Dean, who laughs. He loves Sammy. He really does. Still, teasing him is one of his favorite things to do. Sully was Sam's imaginary friends, who he had until he was twelve. Actually, looking back on it, Sully existed until Sam's first time hunting. Maybe all he needed was some responsibility for him to realize there's no point in the guy.
"You were hunting at twelve?" Anna says incredulously. "Like, with a guy and all that? Who gives a twelve year old a gun, never mind an eight year old!"
Actually, Dean has been holding guns since he was four. It was soon after the fire that killed his mother, and his father gave him a small pistol so that if anyone came after them while John was away, Dean would be able to protect Sam. Himself too, Dean assumed, but it was never specified. Dean knew his priority was his baby brother who couldn't take care of himself, so that is probably why John specified him-so Dean wouldn't forget Sam.
"It's not as young as it sounds," Dean tells Anna.
"You were in freaking third grade!"
Dean shrugs. "What can I say? We grew up fast."
Dean glances at Lucifer, who's been oddly quiet throughout the whole conversation. Judging by the impressed look on his face, he was listening. Why isn't he saying anything? Even though he just met Lucifer, he knows this is out of character.
Anna notices this too. "You haven't said anything in forever," she observes. "You're turning into Michael!"
Lucifer laughs. "Or maybe I just don't want Amara out for my head," he replies. "Chuck's pissed at me already."
"Ah, right," Anna replies. "Forgot about that. Completely your fault, by the way."
"I didn't even do anything!" he protests.
"Dude," Gabriel says, a grin on his face. "You brought a feral cat home with you. I think that's something for them to be mad at."
"It was a cool cat!" he says.
"You sound like you're in the seventies," Anna teases.
"Okay, but I'm literally talking about a cat. I'm not calling someone a cat. I'm calling a literal cat a cat."
Anna shrugs, smirking. "Technicalities."
Lucifer rolls his eyes. "Whatever."
