1987
"For the last time, stop filming me, Michael! I'm exhausted. Baby Girl walked right through the front door of our condo and screamed at me with a joking voice. Her New Jersey spilled on the word exhausted.
I steadied the camera and just stood while zooming in on that pretty but annoyed face. She puckered those dark lips and stomped one boot over and over on the wooden floor. I hardly contained myself laughing as expected.
"And hello to you too, beautiful." I answered behind the camcorder.
Booming music of the radio played once more over the sound of her annoyance. I didn't even care and continued filming anyway. Footage like this would always seem priceless in my mind. She snatched up yet another Cranberry juice and I followed her to our bedroom with the camera. I could've cared less about our messy covers at the moment.
My eyes just watched my angel rest on the bed and nearly hide away with a pillow. Every so often, she'd take a swig without another word to me. The music echoed loudly from the front room, but she didn't care right now.
"What?" she hissed, but finally closed our bedroom door with a free hand. Footage blurred for a moment as I waited. Only the muffled sound of Janet rang through my ears. Brenda already sat back down on the bed when I settled again with this camera.
"Boy, either tell me what's going on or stop filming." Brenda's voice grumbled while a favorite tart moved down her windpipe.
"Okay baby. I'm sorry." I laughed through my words and gripped the camera tightly. "I've something to tell you, though. It's good news."
"What?" she finally smiled from cheek to cheek and my heart honestly fluttered.
"You're going back to Miami, with me."
Brenda chuckled this time, puzzled. "Baby, what? How'd you? What?!"
"Yeah!" I exclaimed, but kept a soft voice to reassure my best friend. "Pulled more strings and now we're free for until Tuesday. Don't worry about work at all So, what do you think?"
"What about the album? What about the tour? You don't have that much time left, babe." Brenda pouted in such a cute way. I couldn't help zooming in on that face again and she giggled.
"Frank's gonna kick my ass, but I'm his boss, girl." I reminded her. "I told you before, burnout isn't an option."
'Okay, then. Are we leaving tonight or what?"
"No." I chewed my bottom lip still holding the camera. "Tonight, we pack and just talk to each other."

I finally put down the camera. Throughout the night, I snuck kisses every time she bent down to place clothes in her luggage. My private jet would glide us over the sky early tomorrow morning. Only her sweet laughed filled my ears whenever we locked eyes.
Around ten, we gorged on pints of ice cream she bought the day before. A rerun of Ghostbusters played on Cable and I nearly choked on my treat watching Bill Murray. "Yes, it's true. This man has no dick!"
We both giggled like children and pointed our spoons at each other while mumbling through joyous tears. Baby Girl held my face and offered a tasty kiss. I smiled bashfully and hid the growing lust in my eyes. She looked adorable and hot all at once.
I'd already shut off the television and Brenda instantly whined jokingly. Even her jaw dropped at the moment. "What in the world? That's one of my favorites!"
I rolled my eyes, but smiled. "You've only see it ten million times in three years."
Brenda laughed, quickly folding her arms alongside me on our bed. "Says the same man who watches Peter Pan every other weekend and in a Mickey Mouse sweatshirt!"
I gasped and dramatically held onto my heart. "Take that back! It's Disney, woman. There's a huge difference!"
Dead silence fell between us at first. Within seconds, we both laughed out loud uncontrollably. I kissed Brenda's cheek and scooted close enough to nearly sleep in her arms.

Saturday morning.
Brenda snatched up a window seat near me. The biggest smile crept onto her face and I couldn't even resist blushing. I soon reached over to lock her hand with my own and raised an eyebrow behind my sunglasses.
"Thank you, baby. This is gonna be so much fun." Brenda whispered and kissed me.
We made by midafternoon or so. As expected, many rookie hotel staff members gawked at the sight of me. Bill and security kept watched as usual, regardless of our vacation. Neither Brenda or I minded for obvious reasons. There was no way I'd ever take a risk with us being alone.
Brenda occupied by unpacking and I immersed myself with the atmosphere. Open balcony windows revealed a brilliant seaside view. Strands of my hair blew around in the window like some cliché Hollywood film.
I leaned across the rail to see more, not caring if anyone noticed my presence. I deliberately selected a hotshot resort in order for us to slightly avoid standing out in one way or another. Tropical music heightened my mood even further a grateful smile crept onto my face.
I did all of this for my baby.
Speaking of which, her voice called from inside the front room. I looked over to see her actually carrying a silver dish. Two Mimosas and Danishes greeted my eyes. I chewed my bottom lip walking toward once Brenda set down our treats for the outdoor table here. I carefully inhaled the aroma of salty ocean breeze around us.
Brenda passed her a glass to me she closed a generous amount of space between us. I smiled bashfully. Music continued behind me.
"To us." she cheered before drinking right across from me. "Thank you, baby."
"You're welcome." I answered and kissed her twangy lips.
