BRENDA

Brenda Michelle,

From this day forward, I will dance for you. I will sing for you, and I will ONLY dream about US. Never again will I ever find someone as beautiful as you, inside and out. No matter what you may think sometime, I love you, no matter what.

PS: Keep up the good work and I'm here if you need me, babe. Always.

-Mike.

As if his letter weren't enough already, one of the studio receptionist had lugged in a huge bouquet of Violets and even this gigantic heart-shaped box of chocolate. I rolled my eyes, but smiled at the reminder of Michael's cliche idea, but adored the endearing gesture anyway. Before I could anything else, Craig blurted out of nowhere.

"You better share that for desert!" I nudged him setting down the box on a glass table across from the sofa here and chuckled before heading back toward the recording booth. I couldn't even open the glass door when Craig shouted yet again. Honestly, I wanted to strangle this little brat sometimes. Even two of the engineers caught onto my drift and watch Craig like hawks for a moment, but I turned back on my heels and noticed Craig gripping the phone in his hand.

"What now?" I sighed, placing both hands on my hips.

"You might wanna take this call. We'll wait."

"Is anyone dying?" I mumbled.

"No, but someone really wants to talk to you, B."

"Who?" my eyes narrowed and I immediately crossed my arms while impatiently tapping both feet on the floor beneath all of us.

"Take the phone and you'll find out." I scoffed and snatched the phone right now out of Craig rough hand. He soon busied himself with everyone else at the mixing board and I took a place on that sofa, breathing hard onto the receiver before speaking.

"Hello?" I pushed back my curls, only letting them fall back into place. Across from me, the boys rambled about my projects as if I were never in the room, which comforted me.

"Should I call back later?"

"Um sorry, but yes. I'm working. Thanks so much for the gifts, but what the hell are you doing right now? I hope Frank isn't pissed off."

"He's not." Michael answered. "I'm about to go in for another sound check before the show tonight. God, I miss you already, babe."

"I miss you too, but I really gotta get going. We've been on fire all day and it's barely lunchtime now. Like I said, thanks for the gifts. I love you."

"Just wanted to make you smile and I love you more." We shared laughter before I wished him good luck on stage and hung up. I watched the ceiling overhead, rubbing down my already exhausted face. I'd set my glasses on the table during the conversation that took place just moments beforehand.

"All right you guys. I'm ready again."

__

Boy you give me feelings.

Never felt before.

I'm making it obvious by knocking at your door.

You know that I'm coming tonight.

I know I'm coming tonight.

Don't want to deny it anymore...

This particular song popped out of nowhere not long after Michael and I became a couple. In my mind, this among others had been a fun ode to our silly, honest, flirty and most of all devoted relationship. There was no turning back.
