Chapter 10

I walked into the club house on Sunday morning in a pair of white trousers with black Prada riding boots over them and a black and blue Victoria Beckham knit t-shirt. My hair was curled and up in a loose ponytail. When I got up to my office, Joe was standing in front of the door, looking at his watch in annoyance.

"Can I help you?" I sighed, getting my keys out of my black Prada bag.

"I'd actually love your help!" He hissed, following me into my office.

"What?" I threw my bag on the floor and took off my black Stella McCartney rain trench coat, placing it over my large desk chair.

"Kris, hasn't shown up yet and practice starts in 5 minutes!" He crossed his arms. "And Rizzo said you were the last one to talk to him!"

"Oh really?" I laughed slightly, sitting into my chair. "Bryant's not here?" I crossed my arms, leaning back and Joe nodded.

"Did you not here me the first time? With the new rules, if he's not here without valid exemption, he has to sit and I can't afford that!" He hissed and I nodded.

"Well, if you think he's not here, then maybe you should get a new prescription!" I gestured behind him and turned around to see Kris standing in the doorway in his practice uniform, ready to go. "Joe, if you don't mind I have important people to talk to! Go get yourself ready for the day!" I sighed and just looked at me, then Kris, then back at me.

"He wasn't here earlier!" He hissed and Kris cleared his throat.

"I'm sorry Joe, I was in Stephen so he could stretch out my shoulder since it's a bit cold outside!" He gulped and Joe laughed slightly.

"I'm so sorry guys, I forgot to call Stephen!" He sighed, looking over me. "I'm very sorry Brett, I'll leave you alone!" He gulped, looking at his feet while he walked out.

"Come in and close the door behind you!" I sighed, logging into my computer as Kris closed the door and sat down on the chairs in front of my desk. "What's up?" I smiled, looking into his bright eyes.

"I know that you're not a therapist, but, I need to talk to someone!" He mumbled, fiddling with his fingers.

"Yeah, what's up?" I leaned back in my seat and watched him meticulously.

"I've never played a game without being with Jess, my ex-fiance! What if I can't play properly without her? Also, I've never been this distant with Rizzo and what if, this is where things start to break? The wheels fall off the wagons?" He gulped, glancing up at me before going back to watching his feet tap.

"Don't think like that! Tell yourself you're going to do better without her! Also, you can't keep blaming Anthony! I know it seems like he's the reason you broke up with Jess, but nothing happened between them! If anything, he helped you realize that Jess wasn't with you for the right reasons!" I sighed and he looked up at me. "Trust me... Just trust yourself!" I giggled slightly and he smiled, nodding his head.

"Thank you... For everything!" He smiled, standing up. "Will I see at the game tonight?" He laughed slightly and I nodded.

"I wouldn't miss it for the world!" I smiled, shaking my head slightly. "Get out there before Joe comes up and yells to me that you're not here again!" I smirked and he nodded.

"I'll see you later!" He laughed, walking out of my office.
