I stood quietly utop my favortie hill, watching the night as it crept across the land and sky.

"Ah, twilight. My favorite time of day." With a skip in my step, I walk down the hillside and entered the small forest I know like the back of my hand. I glanced around, no one nearby. With a soft sigh, I turned my palms downwards and uncurled my fingers.

A gentle, chilly breeze blew past me, and strips of blackness escaped from my palms and surrounded me in darkness. Within several seconds, the forest is wrapped in darkness. A strngth comes over me, and I smile wickedly.

Ever since I was little, I've been able to control the dark. I don't remember how I became this, but I love it. Joyfully, I easily scale up a tree and sit within it's branches, admiring the view.

No one knows about my gift, it's been messing with my life for years. It has it's moments, both good and bad, good because I can saty up late, but bad because it keeps me away from everyone else. This had become more of an issuse ever since I turned 15 and took an interest in dating. And when you're only friends are mothes and fireflies, no one is even willing to talk to you.

I let out a sad sigh, twirling my wrist as a medium white moth danced with the flicking motions of my fingers. "Another lonely night." Glancing at my full moon watch, I realized my mom would be worried. I slipped down the tree trunk and strided through through the forest, smiling peacefully as the fireflies danced around me.

That would be the last normal night I'd ever have.
