Even before I found out each child's peculiarity, I could already tell they were different, each of their pressences radiated with something odd and out-landish. A feeling I have inside me as well.
My first dinner with the Peculiars (might as well call them something) was pretty uneventful, Bee Boy (I couldn't remember his name) forgot his net and sent bees buzzing around the room. Clair knew I could be trusted and calmly fed the fanged mouth behind her golden brown curls. I didn't pay much attention though, my seat happened to be right next to Miss Peregrine and it had become rather hard to eat watching her beautiful balck eyes.
Unless their name was easy for me to remember, I had given each of the children a nickname; the boy who could project his dreams through his eye I call Dreamer, the girl with black gloves I call Fierce Flame because she can hold fire in her bare hands, the little girl who could lift 20 times her size I call Infinity because there's nothing she can't lift, and the boy who could make anything his slave I call Comander. Clair, Emma, and Micheal, the invisable boy, are the only one's I call by their real names. As for the twins, they seem pretty content with me calling them One and Two.
"Rosetta? Hello?" I look up from my plate to see Emma shaking my shooulders slightly. "Come on, it's almost movie time." Taking a few forkfuls of food, I stood, and gulping the food down, I let myself be led out of the room.
We slip into the living room and get a good spot on the black leather couch, the twins hand Emma and I cups of hot cocoa. As I take a sip, I notice Miss Peregrine watching me from across the room, as soon as she realizes I'm looking back, she quickly glances away.
Curiouser and curiouser. But the thought quickly disappeared once the lights turn off and Dreamer lets loose the flickering white light.
