"5... 4... 3... 2... 1..." I quietly count, watching the clock as I seemed to freeze for a moment before coming to a rest at 2:10, the end of the school year.

I quickly jumped up, gathering my stuff, not realizing the bell hadn't rung yet.

"In a hurry there, Ms. Delonge?" Mrs. Liel laughed; looking extra relaxed in her light wash skinny jeans and plain white button up.

"Oops?" I speak, my face flushed pink at my embarrassing actions.

Those actions were forgotten a moment later, when the bell actually rang, keeping my peers from staring at me any longer. I quickly repacked my things, calling out a rushed bye to Mrs. Liel who merely laughed in response.

As I ran out of the front doors I collided with another body, landing on the pavement with them beside me.

“This is not my day,” I mumble under my breath as the stranger chuckles.

I look over and see that he’s not much of a stranger at all, making me jump a bit.

“Luke!”

“Andy!” He mocked my surprised tone, getting up and extending a hand to help me up.

I quickly accepted it, pulling myself up and dusting off the jean shorts I needed to wear because of the hot weather. I looked down and noticed my backpack was still lying on the ground, making me laugh for some odd reason.

“You okay?” He hesitantly asks, almost like he’s afraid of my answer.

“Am I ever?” I giggle, happiness running through my veins at the thought of 2 months away from school.

“Good point,” He mumbles in response, joining me as I skip to his car.

"I'm bored," I announce, launching myself face down onto Kathleen's bed.

"We've been out of school for two days and you're already bored?" I could barely hear her voice over the sound of The 1975's 'Chocolate'.

"Yes, ma'am, now entertain me," I pause, giggling at her facial expression. "Please!"

"I still have no idea how Luke can put up with you," She mumbled under her breath, turning back to her computer.

"Me either, now please entertain me! It's mid-June and there is absolutely nothing to do." I walk behind her and shut her laptop, running out of the room as she glares at my fleeing figure.

"You're going to pay for that!"

"See, now you're being entertaining!" I twist my head around, seeing she was close behind.

I quickly snapped my head back, but not before I slipped on the hardwood flooring of her kitchen, collapsing into a fit of giggles.

"Oh my g-gosh, Tee, are y-you oka-ay?" She asked, her words being cut off by laughter.

"That was fun!" I cheer, standing up. "Let's do it again!"

"Did you hit your head again?" She raised her eyebrows, making me laugh.

"Maybe," I respond, dragging out the e.

"What am I going to do with you?"

"I hope what you're not going to do is kill me." I tell her, sitting at the kitchen table as I grab a banana from the fruit bowl in the center.

"You are not eating the last banana."

"Oh, but I am, young one."

"I'm older than you!" Kathleen exclaimed, grabbing the banana out of my hand and running away.
