NATASHA POV//
I walk out into the living room to see Anastasia asleep, curled up against Steve whose head is tilted all the way back with his mouth wide open. I bow my head laughing quietly as I sneak over to him. I lean over him and softly flick his forehead and his eyes shoot open. I watch as his expression go from frightened to relaxed as he looks up at me. I lean into him and push against him as our lips touch. "Morning." He mumbles cheerfully against my lips as I pull away. I stand up and leave him with his eyes closed still smiling. "Morning." I say back walking into the kitchen. I begin to make a fresh cup of coffee as I see Steve from the couch carefully get up, making sure he doesn't wake the sleeping Anastasia that lay atop of him. He walks over to me as I pour a hot cup. He snakes his arms around me and rests his chin on my shoulder. "So what happened?" I ask curiously feeling his warm body wrap around me. "She couldn't sleep, she was having nightmares...bad ones, so we talked." He says in my ear softly. "She's getting better-" he begins as he plants gentle kisses along my neck and shoulder, "-she's not as afraid as she was, she's adjusting," he pauses "She told me she loved me." He says and I stop, gripping my mug tightly. "Look, Nat-" he says as he grabs my shoulders and spins me around so I'm facing him now. He looks deep into my eyes, "-she'll open up to you, eventually." He says with a small modest smirk. I nod my head smiling, trying to hide my fear that she never will. I quickly turn back around feeling my emotions begin to choke up inside of me. He grabs my waist again and pull his body close to mine. "She will." He whispers in my ear.

ANASTASIA POV//
I spend my day reading through files and old newspaper catching up through the years. I grab a box full of classified SHEILD and Avengers files and head up to the heli-carrier pad on the roof. I flip through the files and papers as I scatter them around me. I watch as the sun falls over the horizon, painting the sky and bringing out the beautiful NYC skyline lights. I look down at my watch realizing I had been up on the roof for hours. I hear a door open then close behind me and turn my head. I see a small women slowly walking towards me. She emerges from dark and the New York lights brighten her face and reveal that it's Natasha. "Hey." I say quietly smiling a bit as I set the large file to my side. She nods then sits down next to me and dangles her feet off of the edge. We sit in silence hearing the sound of the busy streets echo off of the walls and up to us. "Thank you." I say braking the silence and she quickly turns her head to me and gives me a confused look. "Thank you-" I repeat looking into her eyes, "-for giving me a home." I say and look down at my swinging feet and the street below them. "You gave me everything...when I had nothing." I look back up at her her face half lite and half dark. "You showed me love...something I didn't know existed. And now, I'm no longer alone." I feel a wet tear fall from my eye and glide down my cheek. I watch as tears drop off of her chin and quickly pull her in close. I feel her body holding onto me tightly and let out a sigh. She pulls away her eyes stained red with tears, "I watched...I-i watched as she took your, right from my hand." She says her voice shaking as she looks down at her trembling hands in front of her. "No, this isn't your fault." I say back meeting my eyes with hers. "It doesn't matter what they did there...it doesn't matter what they told me or made me do, I'm here. With you...with my parents." She smiles at me as the words leave my mouth. I see her smile and my body goes numb. I feel a warmth spread throughout me starting from my core. And I feel a smile, a true smile, grow on my lips. At first I didn't know what was happening, but then, it hit me. I was feeling happiness. It was overwhelming. It felt as if a weight was lifted from my chest, as if all the anger and pain and loneliness I've known for my entire life was simply washed away. It all disappeared when I saw her, when I felt happiness and I could finally breathe again...and it didn't hurt this time. I pull her close to my body wrapping my arms around her holding her tightly. "I love you."
