STEVE POV//
"I'm pregnant." She says standing there tears in her eyes. Her whole body is shaking and her face has gone pale. "Natasha," I say with a sad smile on my face just as she breaks down and tears begin to fall from her cheek. I sit her down next to me and pull her head into my chest. "I'm scared." She mumbles against me. I pull away and level my head with hers, staring deeply into her eyes. "I'm right here." I say softly and she smiles back. I've never seen her look this scared, even when standing in front of 30 men with loaded guns pointed at her, she wasn't scared, but in this moment I can see in her eyes that she's truly terrified. I cup her cheek and use my thumb to wipe the tears away. She cradles my hand with hers and holds it there. "How do you know." I ask once she's calmed down a bit. "I went to Banner." She says and I'm shocked by her answer. "I didn't know if I could trust anyone else." She says realizing my expression. "What if my body can't handle this Steve, whatever they did in the Red Room didn't work, but that doesn't mean if didn't affect me." The thought hadn't even come across my mind. I don't want to believe it, but I couldn't help think what if she's right. "We're gonna be okay, I promise." I say and a small smile appears on her face. She grabs my hand and gently presses it up against her stomach. I feel warm inside, that's my child. That's our child. I large smile grows on my face and I feel my face go red.

NATASHA POV//
Steve and I constantly talk through out the night. When I look over to the clock it reads 3:04 a.m. And just as I turn to Steve to tell him that we should get some sleep I see his head tilted back far with droll dripping from his mouth. I quietly giggle before getting up from the couch to head into the room. I begin to undress but find myself standing in front of the full length mirror. I turn to the side and for the first time I notice my stomach is more raised than usual. I place my hand against my bare skin and smile looking down at my stomach. Steve leans against the doorway with tired eyes while smirking. I laugh before pulling a shirt over my head and crawl into bed with Steve not far behind me. I wake up around 10 to feel Steve's lips gently kiss my cheek. My eyes take a few minutes to adjust to the bright lights before Steve quickly plants another kiss but this time on my lips. "Be ready in 15." He says walking out of the room and into the kitchen. I sit up confused before following him trying to keep up. "Whuu?" I say yawning while running my hands through my hair. "I made a doctors appointment." He says while frying bacon. I take one smell of bacon before I'm sprinting into the bathroom and on my knees over the toilet throwing up. Steve chases me into the bathroom and holds my hair up from my face behind me. "Sorry." He says with a guilty look on his face. I pat his chest walking out of the bathroom, "It's not your fault." I quickly get dressed finding whatever will fit and head back into the kitchen to grab a bowl of cereal.
•••
We quietly wait in the waiting room of the doctors for what seems like a decade. I catch myself eyeing other pregnant women and can't help but think to myself, Am I gonna get that big? The nurse startles me and I snap back into reality, he calls my name and me and Steve head back. The nurse directs us into the room and tells us, "Dr.Karev will be here shortly." before leaving us alone in the room. I can tell by Steve's expression on his face that he's a bit nervous but also excited. He grabs my hand and holds it tightly just as Dr.Karev enters the room. "Good Morning." He says cheerfully. "Okay so this shouldn't take long, all we will be doing is checking the week your in and see if everything is all right." Steve and I both nod and I drag my shirt up once again to reveal my belly. Dr.Karev squirts the cold gel onto my stomach and presses the wand up against it and moves it around. Steve's eyes light up as the heart beat comes up over the ultra sound monitor. The sound is perfect, it's steady and strong and I never want it to end. "It looks like your 8 weeks." He says. Steve squeezes my hand even harder to where his begins to go white. "And here it is." Dr.Karev says turning the screen towards us. I look at Steve who has water in his eyes but try's hard to fight it. "Can..can we get pictures." Steve blurts out. Dr.Karev nods then says, "I'll be back in a moment with them." Before leaving the room. Steve looks over at me as I wipe gel from my stomach. I look back up at him and pull his head to mine and press my lips to his. The Doctor comes back several minutes later with the black and white photos and Steve takes them. We head home and the entire car ride I sit there staring at the picture. "So when are we gonna tell everyone else?" Steve asks as we head into the apartment. "Not yet." I quickly say and Steve gives me a confused look back. "When we tell them, they're gonna treat me differently, treat me like I'm weak or hurt." Steve scoffs and rolls his eyes. "I'm pretty sure they know that if they do that, then you'll kick their asses." He says and I laugh. "And they also won't let me go on missions." I say under my breath quickly walking across the room hoping Steve wouldn't hear me. "Nat?" I turn around acting as if everything is fine. "You're joking right?" He says in a serious tone. "Just one or two more, please." I beg. He shakes his head "Natasha what if-" I interrupt him "No, I won't get hurt and neither will the baby. And you can't stop or convince me otherwise." I say boldly, putting my foot down. Steve lets out a loud sigh and looks down at me, "You know if something happens, you'll never be able to forgive yourself." I look back up at him, "That's why nothing's going to happen."
