After the class, as Taejoo said, she came up to Sangchil.

"Hey."

Sangchil let go of Taehyung's hand. "It's okay. I'll find you around."

He nodded and took off. Taejoo smiled and stood next to her. "Let's go somewhere else besides the lecture hall."

They ended up sitting next to one another by a pond on a bench. Sangchil was glad she didn't have to look at her in the face, she would be even more uncomfortable.

But she shouldn't be uncomfortable, it's her sister.

But that's the way it is.

"So, where should I start?"

Sangchil bursted out in questions. "What happened after I left? Everything was probably better."

"No. Mom cried. She cried in your room. She didn't want to admit that you were gone." Taejoo sucked in a deep breath. "Look, I know how you are feeling right now. I can tell you really want to run away from me right now. It must be really harsh on you to know that your bitch-of-a-sister is sitting right next to you and trying to patch things up."

"Yeah."

"And I to clarify that I'm not like that anymore. Ever since I saw you walk out that door with Jin, my gut turned sour. I feel like I could say sorry a million times, but... But guilt is still inside." Taejoo started to tear up. She sniffles back tears, but that made the tears just creep out more.

Sangchil watched as her sister broke down in tears. "From since I was young to my teens, you and Tina treated me like shit."

"I know, I know—""

"And I can't forgive you for that."

Taejoo gaped. "What? Why?"

"I can't forgive you now, right at this spot. It'll—it'll have to take time, Taejoo. I'm not ready to accept your apology. I'm aware of it, but I can't confirm it."

"I don't understand..." Taejoo said. "Sang—"

Sangchil held her hand up. "Taejoo, for more than a decade, you and Tina have tormented me and wrecked my life. That scar you left behind? It's still there. It may seem like it's gone and covered up, but that because I did it myself. It didn't do it by itself. I made myself forget, but that doesn't mean that my mind will let that happen. Mind over matter isn't working for me."

Taejoo cried. "I'm so sorry."

"I know you are. But Taejoo, it'll take time."

She rubbed her eyes. "Sangchil. You're so strong. I don't how you do it."

"Me too."

Both of them didn't speak. They just stared ahead. Somehow, Sangchil felt like she was alive again. She looked over at Taejoo, who was looking back at her.

"I'm just thankful I know I have one family member on my side."

Taejoo smiled. "Are we semi-good?"

Sangchil chuckled. "Fine."

Taejoo's smile widened. "Cool." Taejoo spoke again. "You and Taehyung look good together. I didn't know you were into long-distance relationships."

"I'm not. He arrived some time ago, and I met him."

"How's it going? Between you two? It seems like he loves you a lot."

Sangchil turned her head. "Yeah."

"It must feel nice. You must feel so good, loving him too."

"I thought we were just talking about making up, but then we started to talk about him." Sangchil commented.

"Oh, okay... But I just wanted to catch up on my little sis's life. I don't even have a boyfriend yet. You're lucky, Sangchil."

Sangchil meekly smiled. "Taehyung has gotten really nice..."

"I could snatch him myself..." Taejoo sighed.
