Hermione

I woke to the most terrifying sound ever; Draco screaming. He was sobbing in his sleep, tears flooding his face.

"Hermione," he whimpered. "Don't leave me! wake up! WAKE UP!"

"Draco!" I yelled, shaking him. "Wake up! It's just a dream!"

He opened his eyes but I only got to see them for a second before he he held me tightly to his chest. He sat up and cradled me in his lap. I tightly wrapped my arms around his waist and stroked his hair.

"It's okay now, your okay now, I'm okay," I whispered in his ear.

He sobbed quietly while his arms tightly circled my waist. He held me extremely tight but it didn't hurt too much. We sat there, just like this, for at the very least, two hours.

Eventually, his tears stopped and his breathing became even. I slowly helped him lay down and snuggled up to him. I pulled the covers up and her wrapped his arms around my waist, holding me like I'd disappear.

I nuzzled my face in his shoulder and made sure not to fall asleep until I was sure he was okay.

I felt Draco's arms loosen from my waist and felt his hand slide under my shirt. His hand rested where the baby was currently lightly kicking me. I giggled as his hand tickled my stomach. He jumped in shock.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you," he whispered in my ear.

"It's fine," I said, giggling once more as he moved his hand across my stomach.

He gave me a devilish smirk and I tried to get away. He grabbed my waist and pulled me back down. He trapped my hands and started tickling me.

I sounded like a dying donkey as I laughed.

Draco

I smirked at her and grabbed her before she could run. I trapped her hands and started tickling her.

She sounded like an angel as she laughed. She struggled to get free but my grip was too strong.

After a few seconds I stopped tickling her and pressed my lips to hers. She moaned as I moved on top of her. A sudden banging on the door kept me from going further. I sighed and moved off her.

I opened the door to see mum. "Morning mum," I said.

"Draco," she took a deep breath, "I'm taking Harry and the Aruors to the manor."

My eyes widened. "Y..Your.."

"Yes, I'm going back to the manor. Too many people have died, I'm not letting this go any further," she replied. "I love you, and I'll be back this evening," she kissed my head and walked down the hall.

"I love you!" I called down the hall.

I know she heard me so I shut the door and held Hermione in my lap. I hid my face in her hair and attempted to keep from shaking. Hermione noticed how nervous I was and stroked my hair.

"I'm sure she'll be fine, Draco," she stated softly. "Try not to worry too much."

"Okay," I replied, not really believing it.

She sighed. "I'm starving, why don't we get some breakfast?" She suggested.

I nodded. I picked her up and carried her downstairs.

"Draco!" She squealed as I fake dropped her. "Don't do that!"

I smirked and did it again. She yelped and whacked me upside the head. I laughed and set her at the table.

~*~*~

We were sitting on the couch talking to Ginny when two owls flew in the window. One came to ma and the other to Ginny. I took the letter and began to read.

Draco Lucius Malfoy,

We regret to inform you that you are needed at St. Mungos immediately.

-Seamus Finnigan, St. Mungos Secretary.

I jumped from the couch at the same time as Ginny. I grabbed Hermione's wrist and apparated.

"Draco? What's going on?" Hermione asked when we got there.

I didn't answer but I knew why we were here. Seconds later Ginny was next to me. I rushed to the front desk.

"I was called here," I said, handing Seamus the parchment.

"Floor three, room 207," he told me.

I rushed upstairs, still holding Hermione's wrist. A healer was standing in the doorway of the room.

He looked at me. "Mr. Malfoy," I gestured me in.

I looked at the bed and froze. My mother lay in the bed, bruised and bloody. She was as white as the bed sheets she was laying on.

The healer followed me in and looked at my terrified expression. "She will not live for much longer, ten minutes at the most. I suggest you say your goodbyes," he said quietly. He left the room.

"C...can I h..have a minute?" I asked Hermione.

She nodded and left the room. As soon as the door shut, I broke down. I held my mum's cold hand and she opened her eyes. To my surprise, she smiled.

"I...I..I... l..o..love y..you," she stuttered.

"I love you too," I replied, shaking. "You have to hold on, don't give up, please," I begged.

"I l..love you," she whispered, before closing her eyes.

She let out one last shaky breath and ceased moving.

"Mum? Mum wake up," I cried.

Hermione

I walked in the room when Draco told his mum to wake up. I felt tears stream down my cheeks as I trapped on Draco's shoulder.

He spun around and sobbed into my shoulder. I supported all of his weight as I slowly sat on the floor.

A sudden scream broke us apart.

"HARRY?!" Ginny screamed.

We both stood up and went to the sound. Two rooms down lay a very beaten Harry Potter.

"I..I'm f..fine Ginny," he whispered to her. "T..the h..healer s..said I...I...I would l..leave  I..in a w..wee..week."

I turned around to see Draco had gone back to the room. I rushed in there and sat with Draco. He leaned on my shoulder and cried.
