as giovanna sat down and looked at cal, he just couldn't take it. he sat up, running a hand through his hair and sighing loudly. "for fucks sake, g," he trailed off, looking down at his lap and narrowing his eyes. "i simply do not know how to tell you how i feel."

she looked at him sadly,"callum, you can't just keep all of these emotions to yourself." after pausing, she continued,"we've been through a shit ton of stuff. we've hated each other, kind of bonded, argued, and now, i feel like we're friends. this isn't about hate anymore. cal, i real-"

"stop it." he grimaced. she sat, taken aback before closing her mouth. "listen to me. we were built on hate. we despised each other. maybe we still will after this trip, and that is the reason why i cannot find it in me to tell you. so, drop it. please."

they both sat in complete silence. he was staring at his hands, unable to force himself to look up at her. she was frowning at the floor, thinking of everything, anything that she could say. nothing was going to help. she clicked her tongue before rolling her eyes and turning to him," honestly, maybe i might, but for right now, in this moment, i don't hate you. so make this best of it, alright? because maybe it won't last much longer. maybe after this trip, i'll get a grip and realize how big of a fucking ass you are. but right now, i'm going to be stupid. i like you, i consider you a friend. so, just man up. take the fucking chance and tell me what the hell is on your mind, callum." her nostrils flared as she glared at him.

fifteen pure seconds of silence went by before he spoke,"fiesty. it's cute." giovanna held back a smile, rolling her eyes at him instead. "which is kind of what i need to tell you." she raised an eyebrow, confusion filling her mind.

"what do you mean?" she asked. putting his head into hands, he thought for a moment. it wasn't exactly easy to tell someone you have a sort of small crush on them. it doesn't help when you've hated that person for so many years. "it's alright. just tell me."

he wanted to so badly, but he didn't know how. there was only two possible outcomes. one is that she'll like him back, and they'll live a fairytale lifestyle. it'll end happily ever after. the other isn't so great. she'll be repulsed by him, and she'll change rooms. all of his effort to become her friend will be reversed. he didn't want that.

"look," he gulped," i like you."

"awe," giovanna grinned. "i'm glad we got over our hate for each other because you're a pretty good friend."

cal frowned,"no, listen to me." he took her hand in his, and even though he expected her to pull away, she didn't. "i like like you. you're pretty, fun-"

"cal," giovanna trailed off.

"stop," he mumbled, trying to continue." i want to be more than friends." she pulled away, standing up from the bed, running a hand through her long hair. this wasn't going to be easy for either of them.

"i really...i really don't know what to say."

sighing, cal stood up with her. "don't say anything." he paused. "well, actually, i might need you to say something." a sad smile was on her face as she stared at him blankly. "giovanna, i care about you. you're one of the prettiest girls i've ever seen, you make me laugh, you make me smile, i love being in your presence." she turned away. "say something!"

"cal, i-" she hesitated. "i really just don't know." her breath was shaky. he stepped closer to her, leaning in.

she could feel his warm breath on her face, as he slowly got closer. "maybe this will change your mind." giovanna stared at him for a moment, watching as he puckered his lips and closed his eyes. she had about three quick seconds to think before she had to make a decision.

3 seconds. she obviously cared about him. he was one of her friends now, and she was a genuine, caring friend to all. they had grown to be close in this short period of time, but these days had been a joy for her. she was so glad that the were now friends, but kissing him could ruin that. if she didn't kiss him, it'd also ruin that.

2 seconds. he was such a great guy. calling was definitely attractive, and if you asked giovanna's mother, giovanna would be adorable with him. he was quite interesting to talk to. listening to his stories and hearing his jokes had became one of her favorite activities. he was a very sweet. she had hated him for so many years, not even bothering to give him a chance. when she finally had, she realized he wasn't the bully she had always imagined.

1 second. they fought a lot. of course, she considered him a friend, but they still argued like enemies. she had hated him for so long, and she finally overcame that. what if they date? what if they break up? all of this time would be unnecessary. she had made a decision.

stepping back, she watched as he almost tripped. "i'm sorry. i just can't." she ran out of the room.

"giovanna!" he yelled, but she was already gone.
