a week had passed, and callum had been getting nowhere. after trying and trying to get closer, it had seemed as if giovanna did not want anything to do with him again. "i forgive you, cal. don't worry," she had said the morning after their fight. their parents came home, and she started clinging more to her mom.

he wanted to make everything better, but he was failing. after letting out a quick sigh, he finally built up the courage to confront her. she was sitting at the kitchen island, typing on the computer she had brought. "hey, g?" cal leant against the island. "wanna go on a walk with me? there's a store down the path a mile or so down."

giovanna looked up at him and laughed. "you want to go shopping with me?" she asked. "literally all i ever shop for is junk food and tampons." the digust was evident in his face. "oh my gosh, callum. don't act like a child." she rolled her eyes and shoved him a little.

he raised an eyebrow,"does this mean you'll go shopping with me?" a cheeky grin tugged at his lips.

"sure," she slowly got off her chair and grabbed her jacket. "don't be a asshat."

"me?" cal laughed. "asshat? never." he led her out the door, onto the snowy path. after a few moments of complete silence, cal spoke up. "remember when you gave me a bloody nose on the first day here?" giovanna laughed, nodding her head. "that really fucking hurt. didn't know you could hit so hard."

"that was your fault!" she protested. " what can i say? i'm pretty strong." she threw punches in the air.

cal scoffed," it was not my fault!" she rolled her eyes at him. "wanna scare something once, and you get punched in the nose." he shoved her a little and laugh.

"oh, shut up!" she giggled. "why'd you want to walk, by the way?" they stepped over a branch in the path, as giovanna waited for callum's answer.

"i was bored, and i missed talking to you," he gave her a cheeky smile as she just rolled her eyes. "i'm not lying. i actually missed talking with you."

"that's sweet," she bit her lip and paused. "i'm sorry for ignoring you this week."

"it's alright, g. don't worry bout it," cal shrugged.

"no, it's not!" she protested. a loud sigh escaped her lips before she continued," i'm kind of just scared. we have hated each other since we were children, and it's terrifying to think that we could actually become friends."

cal nodded, mumbling to himself," tell me about it." he turned to giovanna," i get that you're scared, but i'm not the same awful dude."

"everyone says that, cal," she shook her head, fumbling with her fingers. callum didn't reply. e just walked straight ahead, leaving the walk to be a silent one.

giovanna was beyond terrified. years and years of anger and hatred towards one guy could not result in being friends. it was like some fiction story, and she didn't know what to do with it. she wanted to be his friend, and she wanted to trust him. she just didn't know if she could yet.

she sighed out loud, glancing over to see callum staring at her. "hey, don't worry. i'm willing to try." he grinned widely. "don't get too happy. i may end up deciding that you're the ultimate douchebag."

"me?" callum pretended to be offended. "i am nothing like a douchebag! consider me hurt." he turned away from her, making her roll her eyes.

"oh, shut it," she laughed, and she realized the logical part of her wanted to stay away. yet, the stupid side actually felt something there. maybe it was a possible friendship blossoming or maybe it was those childish butterflies.
