That night with Ethan was simply amazing. I really enjoyed his company. It is hard to think that the man that I thought to be emotionless proved me wrong. He is actually capable of smiling and telling jokes.

The following day I had to work in the field and got consumed with all the meeting for the day. Then came the installations that needed immediate attention, and because we are lacking engineers, I moved some of my schedule to accommodate these concerns in the coming weeks.

______________________________

Two weeks had passed and I am almost done with all the installations, it is also nice to be released from the tension caused by all the work loads that we have. I have been preparing for lunch when Ethan appeared out of nowhere startling me again.

"You've got to stop doing that or your going to send me to the grave in no time." I said to him holding my chest as if my heart was ready to leap off my rib cage at the moment.

He chuckled. "I'm sorry." He had a grin on his face. "It wasn't my intention, but it is kind of funny seeing you jump around so much.", He teased.

"I'm glad you that find my situation entertaining." I said to him sarcastically.

The smirk in his face never left. "So, what can I do for you?" I asked.

"Well.." He started, but was cut off when someone called me.

"Hey Leah! Aren't you ready yet?" Tom called from the door. He stopped his track when he saw who was standing in front of me. "oh! Good noon Sir!" he greeted Ethan, "Sorry for interrupting, I'll just wait for you in the lobby." he said to me.

"Sure." I replied, then he left us alone. No one was hanging in the office during lunch so its just the two of us at the moment.

Ethan's seems to be thinking of something so I tried to snap him out of it. "Sir?" I prompted for him to continue whatever he has to say. If possible he stood straighter and his face turned stoic.

"Nothing. Forget about it." and on that note he left.

What was that all about? Now I am intrigued what ever he was about to say. I followed Tom down the lobby for lunch, where he is waiting patiently.

"Hey! Sorry for making you wait." I told him once I was near enough to be heard without shouting.

"Don't worry, the rest of us already started walking to the deli to reserve seats."

I gave him a nod and we started following our officemate to the resto.

"So, what did the boss want?" He asked.

"Nothing." I replied.

"Nothing?" he seemed genuinely curious.

"Yes, nothing." I told him. We are near now near the Urban Deli.

We normally go to this place for lunch because it serves good food and the price is affordable, Most importantly its just across our office, so we are not worried about running late.

Urban Deli is easily packed during lunch, so it is good that they went ahead of us to reserve seats and order.

"what do you mean he said nothing as in he didn't say anything?"

"He said something, he said the word 'Nothing'. " I laughed at his confused facial expression. "Just forget about it."

"Boss is really weird." Tom concluded as we arrived in the deli.

"What took you so long?" René asks when we're near her, she reserved two seats beside her.

"The boss talked to him." Tom said.

René raised her brow at me a silent question for 'what did he want?'

"Nothing." I said. Her eyebrows crunched up in confusion.

Now it was René's turn to be confused.

We all gave our orders and started digging in to our food as soon as it arrived. We chatted about work and other stuff. But at the back of my mind I cant help but wonder what Ethan wanted to say earlier.

The day passed without anything interesting happen.

Again Ethan was holed up in his office the whole afternoon. So I never has the chance to ask him. As soon as I was done, I packed up my stuff and got ready to go home.

I didn't bring my car today, and just took a cab this morning to work. All the driving in and out of town this past week got me feeling tired of driving.

Since it was only 6p.m. I thought of walking towards the small shops again and do some grocery before going home. I've been meaning to this since last week I just never had the time.

After buying all necessary things I need for the house, I decided its time to go home. But to my luck, no taxi cabs are passing..I mean there are some but they all have passengers.

I was about to start walking towards the direction of my house, (I don't plan to walk all the way, but I'd rather get a head start than waste my time standing, Its not really a problem for me.) But I stopped my tracks when I saw a man standing before me staring at me from head to toe. Ugh! This isn't good.

I started to move again and decided to walk around him when he started to walk towards me. I am not to judge people but this guy looks sketchy. He has this eerie grin that can make hairs of your neck stand.

"Hi miss.." the man speaks to me. I tried to avoid him by stepping aside but he just blocked my way.

I narrowed my eyes at him. "get out of my way." I snapped at him.

"hmm..feisty.. I like it.." He began to move towards me, so I pushed him back.

"what do you think your doing?!" I raised my voice. To get attention from the people around us and alert them with what is happening.

The man reached out to my arm and pulled me towards him. I can smell alcohol from his breathe when he chuckled. Perfect.

"my..my...I think I'm going to have fun with you."

"Let go of me!" I tried to pry my arm away from him, that is when I saw a shinny pointed thing hidden between his left hand and his body.

Believe me when I say that I am trying to stay calm, but I find it hard, especially when I can almost feel my heart in my throat.
