When I woke up the following morning I have a head ache and was feeling a little bit out of the weather. I sat on my bed scooted up so that I can lay my back on the wall to stop dizziness, as soon as the room stood still, the memories from last night came back.

Ethan was here at the resort I was staying, he power trip his way in convincing me to have coffee with him last night. Then he asked me to be his 'plus one' for a fund raising event tonight. It feels like my head is getting worse because of Ethan's plan later this evening.

It is not that I don't like attending social gatherings, what I am against is sitting with Ethan the whole evening, and much worse is that his Grandmother is also coming to the event. I very much like to panic at the moment, but I had to get my thoughts and emotion together. I have to treat this professionally as possible, besides Ethan already made clear last night what our status is. You might probably wondering how he convinced me.

I sighed as I remember the events that passed last night. He was still irritating because of his bossiness, yet, I couldn't help but smile at his weirdness sometimes. I always say before that he is to serious, but as I get to know him more I got to learn his different sides that still surprises me though it was not the first time I've seen it. Like his smile and the way he laugh, even his lame jokes, though it often puts an involuntary blush to my face.

When we finished drinking coffee last night he walked me back to my room, while a question popped in to my mind. I knew I had to ask him or else it will bug me for the rest of the night.

"Sir, may I know why?" I asked.

Silence.

"Sir" I tried to get his attention.

He still didn't respond and continue walking.

"Hey!" I was getting a bit annoyed by his silence. He stopped walking and I almost bump in to his back. Then he suddenly turn around, making me step back.

He has annoyed look on his face and said, "Ethan".

"huh?" I know what he means but I feign to not understand.

"I told you to call me Ethan outside work." he said exasperatedly.

I chuckle at his reaction, and he narrowed his eyes at me, "fine" I said, "Why?" asked him again.

"What why?"

"Why me?" I said as we continue to walk down the path going back to the hotel. "I mean you could easily come to the party with another girl, for sure there are lots of ladies wanting to be your date."

"Aren't you one of them?" he said jokingly.

I gave him a dead pan look. He chuckled. He stopped at the steps of the hotel, so did I and waited for his answer.

He took his time , slightly scratching the back of his neck, "You have to promise first that you won't freak out, or back out. Remember you already said yes."

I narrowed my eyes on him. What is he saying?, "What do you mean?"

"Just promise." he said seriously.

I look at him, trying to get an answer from his face, when I realized that I wouldn't be getting any, I huffed and said "Fine."

He smiled at this and started to explain. "you see, Mrs. Grace Thompson the host of the event is also my Grandma's best friend and they both made it their business to help me settled down-not that I need any." he huffed.

"Settle down?, as in they want you to marry?" I clarified.

"Yes, they normally throw me to different dates -- Well my Grandma did, while Mrs. Thompson is encouraging me to find it on my own,-- and I always find away decline them." He said while as he sat on the steps, facing the pool.
