"I can't believe I'm still not done with this." I sigh and lay my head on the table.

"Tell me about it." He sighs as well.

"Any clue why this happened?" I ask.

"Nope, still reading." He turns the page in his book. Turns out there's two different books about this mess. "Wait, wait, I got something." He clears his throat to read. "It says, when one breaks the rock in the dream world, bad things happen. Oohhh, that makes sense."

"What?"

"I remember this dream I had where I jumped off this cliff and found a rock, well this rock," He points to the picture. "and I threw it on the ground and it shattered."

"Why would you throw a random rock on the ground?" I scold him.

"I don't know, it was a dream." He shrugs.

"Well is there anything else? Like is this over?"

"How about you read in your book instead of being on my back?"

"Someone's a bit salty." I sing song.

"No one is salty here alright."

"Okay, whatever you say." I sing song again. He rolls his eyes and I start to look through my book. "Ok, so it says here, a job you must do is retrieve the rock, return it back to the original spot, where you met and how you did, after that all is bid."

"All we gotta do is get the rock, bring it to the pond and..... How did we meet?"

"Oh, we met by.....ummm.....wait no. We met on the bench. But what does it mean by how?"

"When I first saw you I asked if you were alone and you said it was peaceful and then we went to go feel the water." Aw, he remembered. But what if this Devin is different? I don't wanna fall for him so fast. We only just met, well actually just met.

"I think we just throw it in the pond."

"But it shattered into so many pieces, there's no way we can get the complete rock into the pond. What happens if we don't?"

"It says, if the task fails to be completed, you both will be depleted." I clear my throat. "I guess we better do it then."

"How the fuck are we gonna find and bring back all those pieces?"

"Salty." I cough.

"Just keep reading." He rolls his eyes again. As much as I loved Devin before, after he went all crazy on me, I can't look at him the same way. It's really awkward. I guess it is for him too.

"Oh no, no, no no." The librarian shuts our books and shoves them under her arm. "You two can't read this."

"Wait why?" Devin stands up.

"You can't, now stop arguing and get out my library."

"You're an angry old lady." Devin mumbles.

"Look, we need those books." I intervene.

"And look here missy, you're not getting them." She walks away and I follow her.

"Why can't we read those books? This is a library. We can read any books we want."

"And feel free, not these." She shuts the door to her office.

"We're getting those books." Devin turns to me and says.

"How though? She's probably gonna lock them in her office."

"Tonight we sneak in."

"Sneak in? Are you crazy?" I whisper yell.
