"Are you sure about this?" I question him.
"Of course I'm sure." He reassures me. He does this patterned knock on the brick wall and nothing happens.
"I think you di-" The wall starts to shake cutting me off. Soon enough a part slides open revealing a dark entrance.
"Ladies first." I give him a bewildered face. There's no way I'm walking through this dark hole first. "I'm kidding, I'm kidding. Come on" He takes my hand. Within a few yards through the wall shuts behind us. I walk closer to Javier and he tightens his grip on my hand. Finally we see a dim light at the end of the tunnel.
"Woah."
"Woah." We say at the same time. There was a room, although it looked old, vintage, antique-ish, there was no dust. It was as if someone was there to keep it tidy. There were books, so many books. A few tables and stools on the left. In the middle was a small counter.
"Why, we meet again." We both quickly turn around realizing the voice came from an old man. The same old man I asked for directions to the dock and the café.
"I guess so. This is your library?"
"Shhhhh," He puts his finger to his lips. "don't tell anyone." He chuckles and I smile. "What do you two need? I'm assuming you found the instructions your mom left you Javier."
"How do you know my name?" His head tilts to the side a bit.
"I'm your grandpa, believe it or not but it's true. Come, have a seat, let's talk." We follow him to a table. "We have a special bloodline Javier. We can see things others can't, we dream things the others can't. Our dreams are glimpses of the other world, the world where Condy is from. We have the ability to come forth and back as we please without any...consequences."
"What consequences?" He curiously asks.
"Well, one step across that barrier and poof, you're no more. But not for us, it's in our genes. Our family holds special secrets, if anyone else found out they'd go crazy. Much like Devin did." He looks at me. "Devin was a normal boy, wrong information got to him and he spent all his time trying to get the rock. He fell in love, they can't handle strong emotions like that. But let me promise you this, the Devin you met recently is not the Devin you knew before. Don't worry about a thing, alright?" I nod feeling relief. That's the only thing I was worried about.
"So everyone else, what are they called?" Javier asks.
"Well firstly, we are called the Seautons. Everyone else is called the Cherismos. And Condy's people are called The Others, simple isn't it? The Cherismos are manipulated, they have no conscious really. When The Others dream, they do what the others' deep concious wants. When people like Javier are in their dreams, he can't be controlled. He has a mind of his own. The Cherismos, they don't dream. But when the Seautons dream, we dream about people like Condy who can't be controlled as well." He stands up and goes to grab a book off a shelf. "I believe you're looking for this."
"We are, thank you." I gratefully tell him.
"Well you kind of already answered the question we had." Javier says.
"This book has much more information than you've thought to ask about already. Those two books your three friends have are just the basics, I can't even guarantee it's mostly true. This book right here tells you everything." The second he mentions them I remember Kevin. I check the time and it's four thirty.
"Kevin! I totally forgot about him, I hope he's still there at the café. We have to go." I stand up holding the book.
"The café closed early today, at three." Javier says.
"Thank you so much for your help." I thank him once again.
"One more thing Condy, don't get lost in this world. That's how you lose your conscious. Once that's gone, you forget everything." He walks away into the isles of books. I rush out the way we came thinking about what he said. Lose my concious? The Cherismos. They made it here and got lost in the perfection. And once they lost their concious, they're mindless parts of this world forever.

After I get out the car I bump into someone and fall back.
"Oh I'm so sorry." She helps me up. "Condy, hey!" Jazzy hugs me. The thought of her being a Cherismo breaks my heart. If this is Devin's sister here then, what about in the real world? So many questions arise.
"I'm so happy to see you but I'm in a rush." She lets go of my waist. She gets out a piece of paper and pen. "My number, make sure you call me, OK?"
"I'll call you." I put it in my back pocket.
"You're in a rush, aren't you? Hurry!" She laughs and I crack a smile while jogging to the café. It quickly fades away when I see no sign of Kevin. And his phone is at Javier's house.
"Where could he be?"
"He was hanging with that Bruna chick, right?" I nod. "I know where she lives." We jog back to his car and he drives pretty fast. "I used to tutor her on the weekends." He explains. Finally we make it to her house and knock on her door.
"Hello." A lady greets with a smile.
"Hi, is Bruna here?"
"Ohhh you used to tutor my daughter. Yes, she's here but with a boy right now in case you had a crush on her or something." She laughs.
"No, we just needed to talk to Kevin."
"Sure, sure. They're upstairs in her room." She lets us in. We go upstairs and the door is already open. They were having the most hilarious conversation because we could hear them laughing from downstairs.
"Sorry to interrupt." I say.
"Oh Condy, I'm so sorry for leaving but they closed so I came here." Kevin apologizes.
"It's fine, let's just go so we can, you know." I tell him.
"So we can.....?" He seems confused.
"Find what we came here to look for." I try not to plainly say look for the rock.
"Which is?"
"Kevin, can I talk to you outside for a second?" He follows me. "We need to look for the rock, Kev."
"What rock?" Oh my goodness! Don't tell me he forgot everything.
"No, no, no, no, no. You lost you concious!" I panic.
"Condy, what are you talking about?"
"Come on Kev, remember. You came here to help me find the rock. You're best friends with Daniel and Devin." He snaps out of it.
"Woah. We need to find that rock, fast."
"I got this book, all the answers we need are in here. As soon as we find that rock, we can get outta here. This place gives me the chills." I turn around to leave but he stops me.
"I can't believe I almost forgot that quick. That's hella creepy. I wonder if anyone got left behind. What about Bruna? I really like her."
"Kevin really? She's just a girl."
"No Condy, like I really like her. Can't we just take her with us?"
"I don't know if we can. Ok ill tell you what, let me just look through this book and I'll find the answer. In the meantime call Daniel and check up on them." He grins. "What?"
"You miss Devin, don't you?" He pokes me.
"What? I'm just checking if they got any extra information or something." I lie.
"Fine, don't admit it. I know the truth." He pats my shoulder and walks into the bathroom. Ok maybe I do miss Devin a little.
