Chapter 8: Focus

"Your next and final step is focus" Cinna says as we sit at the table and I nod

"Now focus on this leaf" he says placing it under one of three cups and I breathe in and out and nod, he then mixes them up and already I've missed where the leaf is and so I point to the third one, it's not there and it was the first one, this is going to take me ages.

So it's now been a few hours later and so far I've been getting them all right which means I'm nearly ready to survive on my own out in the world which I'm ready to take on, I can march back in that castle and demand my place on the thrown, of course Peeta's kingdom to defend me, that's if he'll even want to speak to me, I hope he does.

Cinna and I sit outside while everyone else enjoys this time to celebrate but if I'm completely honest I miss Peeta, I miss my kingdom and above all I miss my parents

"We can provide you with food and a map if you wish to set off" he says and I sigh

"As much as I've liked my stay here, I need to get my thrown back, my kingdom is misery with my stepmother ruler" I state

"It's fine girl on fire. We've been happy to serve you"

"I promise when I'm ruler you will all have your very own house filled with enough food and enough to drink. You're all my friends and are good people" I reply and he smiles

"Do you think Peeta hates me?" I ask

"Oh no. He's still looking for you we pass him all the time in the forest, his castle isn't far from here, just beyond those trees and his castle is there" he points and I sigh

"We were to be married... my stepmother knew though that she'd be taken off the thrown and people will know all her wrong and so she sent the one person who has been a mother figure to me to kill me but of course she couldn't do it and so she let me go. Now I fear for her life because if I know my stepmother then I know if she finds out that she let me go then her life is in a lot of danger" I explain

"And that is why you are to go to Peeta's castle and tell him everything. They'll listen, you just have to reveal her evil and they'll believe you" he replies and I smile

"Thanks Cinna. I can always count on you to be my friend"

"No problem girl on fire. Now let's go inside and celebrate" he says standing and I do too and we go inside.
