Six Years Later

I sit in the meadow holding our six month old baby girl as I watch Peeta and Austin play around in the long grass, little Annabella born October 7th, Austin is turning six this July and he's the perfect son anyone could ask for, he's kind but stubborn, gentle but isn't afraid to fight, good with words but not when he lies, his hair is blonde and curly which fall across his forehead like Peeta once did but he has enchanting grey eyes which he must have gotten from me, his little sister though has little ebony hairs on her head and the most bluest eyes a baby could ever have, she's extremely beautiful and it'll be hard for her not to have men fall in love with her but I know Peeta is already protective over his children and he's teaching Austin how to fight and ride a horse and the things that come with becoming a good king and when Annabella becomes older I will teach her the proper ways of being a princess and maybe one day a queen.

"Mommy! Daddy and I were practicing how to fight and I won!" My excited six year old says and I eye at Peeta

"You're teaching your six year old son how to fight? With an actual sword?" I say disapprovingly and he chuckles sitting next to me

"Oh come on Katniss, it's just some father son time" he says throwing his arm behind me and I roll my eyes

"Just make sure you're careful" I warn

"I always am" he smirks and I roll my eyes as I continue to rock Annabella as she sleeps

"She sure does love to sleep" he chuckles kissing her forehead

"Like you I see" I reply

"Hey. Sleep is good, I love sleep" he defends and I laugh a little

"Daddy. Come on! I want to beat you again!" Austin whines and Peeta chuckles standing and kisses me

"I'll see you both in a little bit my beautiful girls" he says and I smile

"We'll be waiting" I reply and I watch as he picks up Austin and they both talk going to the area where the guards train, I can't believe how far my life has come from scrubbing the floors of my own home to being married and having children, I'm really happy with life right now, happy that I have Peeta and my two beautiful children, I wouldn't trade them for anything.
