Oath

Mizu truly felt bad about what happened to Ino. She returned to the booth. The other shinobi stared at her in fear except the ones that knew her. she ignored them and sat down.

The other matches went by fast. She got up to cheer Shikamaru on. It was time for Sasuke's match but he wasn't there. She felt something. She felt a chill down her spine. A bad chill, there was blood lust in the air. It was radiating off of Gaara. It even made Mizu shiver. She was so focused on him she didn't realize that Sasuke had arrived. Gaara walked down to the arena and the match started. Mizu watched the fight. She studied Gaara's movements. Gaara was hidden in a ball of sand as Sasuke charged him with a chidori.

Everything got out of hand.

Gaara went crazy and ran off while Sasuke chased him. She felt dizzy and weak in the knees. She fell to the ground and toppled over asleep.

Not long after falling asleep she woke up. Mizu felt two strong chakra signatures battering nearby. "Lord third?" she mumbled getting up and running in the direction of the battle.

When she arrived she saw a large barrier. Inside was the Hokage and Orichimaru. Looking through she saw the Hokage making forbidden hand signs. The reaper death seal. "No!" she called out to him. he looked her way and frowned then smiled as he finished the jutsu. Orochinaru was trapped and the jutsu was taking his soul. Though it didn't finish. Only Orochimaru's arms had been effected. "NO!" She called to him again. She fell to her knees as he fell down. "No... please." she whispers resting her head against the wall her arms stopped beating on the barrier. It dispersed and the ones who controlled it retrieved Orochimaru. She ran over to the Hokage quickly. She knelt next to him. She looked down at his face. His smiling face.

And started crying.

Time skip

Mizu looked at herself in the mirror glancing at her all black attire. She wore her headband on her neck as usual. she left her house and met up with the others from team seven. In silence they walked to the Hokage's funeral.

The whole village gathered to show respect by placing the white flowers on his head stone. The ceremony passed by quickly but for Mizu it dragged on for hours. She was last to place her flower and pray. Everybody had left except for team seven. Kakashi knew she wanted to be alone. He took the others with him while Mizu sat in front of the grave. She looked up to the sky with tears threatening to fall. In an ancient language she sang an oath.

She was swearing to protect the land and abide by her elders and heirs. She said she would die for the sake of her village.

She sang it many times slowly while tears fell from her dead looking eyes. She placed her right hand on the head stone and the left on her forehead as a custom of her clan. And quietly she, with closed eyes spoke it again in English.

She repeated it again then removed her hands. She stood and left to be alone she went to the stream were she would meet Itachi. He watched from the trees as she sat in the bank crying silently.

She stayed until night fell.
