Six year old girl, she's full of wonder and ready to show the world. That she is strong, she is beautiful. She is ready to paint the world in her own colors and let none step in her way. She was so confident. Within her were a warrior's strength and sort of madness of her own. Difference, unique, creative, strange, brilliant; she feared nothing and saw everything. She was someone that could have changed the world for the better! That is... Before the cruel world torn her down...
Bullied and picked on had her hiding with her counselor most every day. Her feelings were hurt and broken yet she continued to move on with strength that not many could understand. She would not let them bring her down. No matter what they thought of how she looked, how she dressed, how she acted. She would remain strong and true to herself and only be herself. For she saw no one as perfect to be than herself.
A few years down the road and now she's eleven. She's been so bright to this point. This point of having to say goodbye to her best friend. The phone call comes on a December evening with fresh snow falling around her home. Her best friend had been away in the hospital since Thanksgiving and now they tell her it's time to let her go home. Go home back to where we all came from. Being as strong as she could, she awaits her turn for the phone to say her last goodbyes. Her siblings turn away as they finish their time and her Papa hands her the phone. Tears shine bright in all of their eyes as she lifts the speaker to her ear, biting back her tears to show that she is still strong. A mere whispers comes through saying the final words she will ever hear from her... "I love you. I will always love you all..." Trails of fallen tears stain her cheeks as she whispers back "I love you too Grandma..." And with that, her mother holds her tightly as they finally let her go back home to where she would be without pain. No longer suffering yet no longer here for the little girl to hold.
Times passes and now she's fifthteen, a freshman in high school. She always thought this would be the time of her life with her closest friends by her. Yet Fate seem to have lessons she needed to learn. The bullies returned, most of them were new, yet unlike before she didn't have the strength and light like when she was young. She took their words to heart and her soul was torn apart. Left by those whom she'd been lead to believe would always be there for her, she was ready for the end. She was ready to return home and see her friend again. She was ready for Death's Angel to take her away. She thought she was ready. But again Fate knew better than she did.
Eighteen years old, she had made it this far. Through love, heartbreak, happiness, and pain... She had made it. Now it was her senior year and she could finally smile wholeheartedly again. She accepted Death yet he had refused her for even he knew she was far from ready to be departed. She found her true friends and one man that keeps her smiling. She still has her times of darkness but now she is remained that she will never be alone. Never again. She smiles wide and glances to the sky above. She gives a small wave and tells the sky that she loves them and misses them all the time. Many find this maddening though she no longer cares. She may not be as strong as she was a child, yet now she knows her own strength and burns brighter than the blazing sun.
Her story is far from over. Just as your's is as well. Never give up. Never lose hope. You may have lost some battles but together we can win this war. You're never alone. Remember that please. We all have our times of Darkness yet afterwards there will always be Light to return.
