"You're beautiful."
"You're so sweet and kind!"
"I love your smile."
"I've never seen eyes like yours' before.""You're too thin."
"Do you even eat?!"
"What'd you do to your lip?""Anxious."
"Hey, why aren't you eat?"
"What's wrong?"
"You can tell me anything."She's heard it all before. Every single one of them. People seemed to stop looking at her personality and started staring at her body. Their words linger within her head and heart. None ever stop to think twice before voicing these thoughts to her. What they don't realize is this is her continuous battle. The battle of her own body's size. They don't know that for years on end, she's tried. She's tried to gain weight. She's tried everything and when she tries to explain why she does these things... All she has in return is that she should be happy with her figure. She should be happy being so thin and able to eat whatever she wanted.
But how can she? How can she be happy within her skin when she's hearing all this negativity about her size on both sides? One saying she's too thin while another says she should be appraising the genes that blessed her well. Which is it? Is she suppose to hate her body or love it?
She does neither. She just smiles her way through it all. She smiles a smile that never quite reaches her eyes anymore. It use to. Before all of this. Before everyone would be focused in on how she looked than what was inside. She just smiles it all away yet if you ever found her alone, huddling up on her bed... You'd see how many tears that have strained her pretty rosy cheeks. You'd see just how broken your words have left her. And after all these years, you think she'd just be over with it all. But she's not. Those words still live with her till this day and they either make she stronger or tear her down.
Please, watch your words and be kind to each other. Because a simple saying can scar someone forever on their appearance and life.
