The Prince's Mate

Chapter 3-Explanation

*Ryan's P.O.V*

I put this feeling aside and cross my legs. I stare at them for a few seconds until one speaks up. "I'm sorry we didn't mean to break in, we are just really in need of food, we don't have any food back home and if we didn't find food for tonight everyone would go hungry and we really don't want that, we are in danger-" She was cut off by the other hitting her in the arm, she then mumbled a small 'ow'. "Robin you don't need to tell him our life story." The other girl told her friend. One is named Robin, ok we're getting somewhere. I stand up and walk over to the girls. "What are your names?" They both stared at me like I am from another planet. One spoke up. "My name is Luna and this scared-y cat is Robin."I signal to my guards that they can leave. They both gave me a question look, I still waved them off. They left shortly after. 

I turned to the girls who were still in the same spot but, Robin looked terrified while Luna looked calm. I made my way back to my desk told the girls to approach it. "Now, why don't you tell me the name of your pack and alpha so i can contact him or her and get you two on your way home." Luna was about to speak but Robin beat her too it, "Wait you are just letting us go?" She questioned. I nodded, "You have not stolen anything of value, only tried to steal a couple of sandwiches. I personally don't think it is to big of a deal, but I don't know about your alpha." I told them honestly. I hear Luna chuckle. "You want to know the name of our pack? We are from the Silver Moon pack and I am the alpha. Nice to meet you." I was shocked. The alpha was stealing? That I haven't seen in a long time. "And Robin here is the beta." I sit up in my chair, "Why would you be stealing then, alpha?" She chuckled again. "Are you sure you want to know, it is is a long and not a pretty story." She said. I sat back in my chair and put my hands together. "I have time." I say with a smirk on my face. 

*Luna's P.O.V* 

Oh he wants to hear the story. I sigh. I hate the memory. I take a breath and begin. 

I was around the age of 10 , me and Robin were playing by the river. We begun to play hide and seek, "Robin you hide and i'll count to ten and then i'm going to find you!" We both giggled. While we were playing my parents, William and Alice, who were also the alpha and Luna, they were sitting on a near by hill, they ssat on a blanket made by my grandmother. My mother wanted the four of us to have a nice picnic together since my father came back from fighting in the kings army to fight off the threat of rouges. They have threatened our kind for years, but lately they have gotten together to take down the king and create a new order for them but chaos for us. 

I run up to the nearest tree, put my head against it. I begin to count, "One, two, three, f-four, five-" I was cut of by my mother screaming at me. "Luna get Robin and run!" I pick my head up from the tree and look back at my mother and father. They were faced with what looked to be five rouges. I gasped. "No mom i want to help! Let me help you!"  I began to run toward them. She pushed one off of her and yelled back to me, "No! Get Robin and go back to the pack house! And make sure all the children are safe!" As she finished her sentence another rouge attacked her. "Mom!" I yelled, my eyes beginning to well up with tears. "Be safe mom and dad." I say to myself because I know they wont be able to hear me. I turn around and make a run to find Robin. I put my hands up to my mouth to make my yelling louder. "Robin where are you we need to go!" No response. "Robin the game is over please come out!"  No response. Panic risen up in me. I begin to run, 'I need to find her'  I thought. I hear a small giggle from behind a rock. Found her. I look behind the rock and there she is. "Haha you found me, now it's your turn to hide." She giggle. Before she could run to go count i grabbed her hand. "This isn't a game anymore Robin, we are be attacked by rouges! We need to get back to the pack house! Now!"  I took her hand and began to run in the direction of the pack house. We got no more than ten feet when a rouge bigger than both of us combined, jumped out in front of us. We both screamed. We hugged each other tightly because we knew we couldn't do anything since we have fully shifted yet. But the pain never came. We both opened her eyes but did not let go of each other. We saw that it was my mother that saved us. "Go!" I gave my mother one last look before I took Robin's hand and ran. 

We made it back to the pack house, we ran inside and bumped into my father's beta, Robin's father. "Mother and father, we were having a picnic and we were attacked by rouges. I need to get the kids safe." I told him. We heard a loud growl. Our eyes went wide. "Get the children, hurry."  He pushed us into the basement. I looked back once more and saw him and all the other run to fight. I felt a tug on my pant leg, it was a boy by the name of John. I closed the door and sighed. I looked at the children, "Everything will be fine." I told them while i had my hand on his head. 'I hope so'  

I don't know how long we were in there but I thought it would be a good idea to go since all the growling and fighting sounded like it was over. I slowly opened the door and peaked my head out. I saw no one, I poked my head out then opened the door wider, and walked out. The door front door to the house was opened so I walked outside. I gasped and put my hands in front of my mouth. The ground was covered in blood and bodies were everywhere. I hear a chorus of small gasps, I turn to see the children outside with me. "Robin take them back inside, i'm going to look for survivors." She nodded and took them back inside. As I walked past the bodies I saw all of my fathers friends. Tears well up in my eyes. I realize, 'What about mother and father?' I run in the direction of  the picnic. As I arrived, I saw my parents laying a foot away from each other but what made me lose it was, my parents both reaching for each other. I broke down on my knees and began to cry. I got back up after a few minutes, and made my way back to the house. I soon meet up with Robin, she had the kids sitting around with coloring books that she must have found. I went up to her and said, "We are on our own now, mother, father, every adult is gone. We have to look after them now." 

"And we wanted to take the sandwiches to feed the rest of the pack. I do apologize for breaking in." I told him. He just stared at me like I was crazy. "I did hear about the alpha getting attacked but I never knew the whole story. I was never told." He mumbled to himself. He then went quite. What is he thinking about?
