Jungkook feels a pin go straight to his heart and pop it. There's Hoseok waiting for him surrounded in a puddle of balloons that have writing on them that he can't quite read from the top of the stairs.
"Jungkook I love you."
Hoseok sees the tension that comes over Jungkook. The way his body gets stiff and his eyes go round and his cheeks puff out a bit because he's breathing hard. He thinks he's wrong, he thinks he should have waited but then Jungkook slips into another version of himself.
He's timid and he's stuttering and Hoseok feels absolutely awful for making him feel so embarrassed and emotional.
But then Jungkook is right there in front of him hugging his chest and trying to hide his face from Hoseok.
"I love you too. A lot. I really love you a lot."
