Chapter 6- The Deal

Desiree's POV

I was painting my toes when the doorbell rang.

“James, will you get it?” I yelled at my brother

The bell rang again

And again

“Fine” I yelled  slightly irritated that I had to go get the door.

I grabbed the handle carefully so I would not smudge my recently painted manicure.

“Oh it’s you. Why are you here?”

“Hello there Des! I’m here to see my beautiful girl.” Ryan winked at me

“Whatever Ry you ratted me out to James” I pretended to be mad

Ryan nodded gave me an apologetic smile “James is my best friend, and you’re his baby sister. What would you expect me to do? ”

“I thought I could trust you” I feigned hurt

He laughed and rubbed my head messing up my hair “Thought wrong, kid” he smirked knowing how much I hate being called kid. “So where is your big bro?”

“He is here somewhere. I thought you were here to see me.”

“Just curious” He said walking into the kitchen. “I’m here for you, it’s about Zane.”

 I groaned. “Not you too! I told James I haven’t heard from him and I’m glad. He is a loser and an asshole..”

“We found him” Ryan interrupted me before I could finish my sentence

“What?”

“He was in a car accident.”

I suddenly felt dread engulf me. I swallowed hard “is he okay?”

“He is in the hospital, but he should be fine. I’m here to ask you if you would like to come with me to visit him.”

“Yes, lets go.” I said

I know exactly why I said yes to Ryan. I want to go see Zane, because I love him. The man I love is in the hospital, how can I not go?

Tucker's POV

I looked around James's office, and smiled when I saw a picture of Desi with a daisy behind her ear."

"What do you want Tucker?" Mathew Zane's beta asked 

"I’m here to make a deal.” I told James and Mathew 

“Fine. Talk.” James spat at me

“I have your alpha.” I told them

They both growled.

"I will release him in exchange for Desiree. I want her to come live with me. Zane and the rest of his pack members must return to Texas. James you are the only one who can stay and only because your my mate's brother.”

"Like hell she is coming to live with you. She isn’t even your mate." James laughed

“What makes you think we will deal with you? Now that we know you have Zane we can take him back any time we like.” Piped in Mathew

"You two will not see Zane again, until Desiree is with me" 

James looked at me like I was mad. "She isn't even your mate, and even if she was she doesn't know what we are, and she certainly isn't going to come live with you she is 17 for God's sake!" 

Deal. Mathew said

James turned to Mathew. "What the hell are you doing."  He looked like he was about to tear Mathews head off. 

"Enough. I'm currently acting as alpha right now. This is my decision, and I'm doing what is best for pack" Mathew said holding out his hand

"Your alpha is at Pineview Hospital room 234. I want Desiree this evening and I'm telling her everything about wolves." I shook Mathews hand 

"Zane is going to kill both of you." James sneered

"I would like to see him try." I smirked. Zane will not come between me and my mate.
