JJ's POV:
After the Friends marathon with Spence it was midnight by the time we went to bed and I slept like a rock. We both were exhausted and it didn't surprise me when I almost missed my third alarm.
Spencer and Henry were already downstairs making breakfast when I walked down in my sweatpants and tank top.
"How come you guys didn't wake me up?" I asked through a yawn as I reached the bottom of the stairs. It was already seven o'clock which left me fifteen minutes to get ready before we had to take Hen to preschool.
"Oh, Sorry Jayje. Lost track of time. Me and Henry were just making omelets. Go get ready and I'll make you one to go," he smiled as he popped a piece of cheese in his mouth and went back to flipping the omelet.
I headed upstairs after giving Henry a kiss on his forehead and quickly changed into my dress pants and light purple button up shirt. I brushed my messy hair and let it flow loosely past my shoulders. I didn't bother straightening it but decided to bring a hair tie just in case I didn't want to deal with it anymore.
After quickly washing my face and applying a small amount of makeup I went downstairs to get my breakfast and walk out the door.
I quickly ran down the stairs and playfully attacked Henry from behind, tickled him until he spiraled into a fit of giggles.
"Did you pack your lunch?" I asked Henry as I helped him put on his coat since it was starting to get colder and colder each day.
"Uncle Spencer packed it for me!" He beamed and I smiled. He helped Henry get dressed, helped Henry make his lunch, made us breakfast and was a perfect role model towards him.
I could never repay him for what he did for us. He was such a big help but I didn't know how to show it to him so I just told him how grateful I was to have him around.
"It's really no problem," he grinned as we headed out the door, carrying the plate of breakfast covered in wrap that he saved for me. I grabbed Henry's backpack and lunch box so he could sprint to the car. I always used to race him while Will carried his things but... Spence had already done enough for us.
I threw the bags into the back seat and over Henry. After Spencer and I buckled ourselves in we headed out. He set the omelet in my lap and insisted I ate.
"Spence, I'm not that hungry."
"Jennifer Jareau, eat. Now. Skipping breakfast can harm an unborn baby and will only add to your morning sickness," he retorted and I reluctantly unwrapped the plate and dug into the dish. I didn't realize how hungry I was until I finally had some nutrition in my system.
"Am I going to have a baby brother?" Henry asked as I finished scooping the last bite of my omelet into my mouth.
"Way too soon to tell, bud. But that reminds me, I need to make an appointment for an ultrasound," I said after I swallowed my last bite. I decided I would do it at work on my lunch break.
"Are you excited?" I asked Henry and he nodded his head vigorously as we pulled into the preschool parking lot.
After the hugs and I love you's we headed straight for work.
"How's your hands?" I asked as I glanced at his scratched, bandaged up hands clenching the steering wheel.
"They're feeling better. I kind of regret picking up that broken glass, though. I'm an idiot," he laughed as he kept his eyes on the road ahead.
"Aren't we all?"
I didn't know how he got the cuts in the first place or why there was glass in the bathroom or why he decided to pick it up with his bare hands. I cared but at the same time I didn't, I didn't want to meddle into his business anymore than I already had.
We pulled into the parking lot and entered the BAU without another word.
Penelope's POV:
Kevin held the door for me the morning the Unsub was supposed to strike again and I wasn't bothered by it. I knew that moving on from him was going to be hard but actually ended up being easier than I thought.
I forgave him for his mistakes. I didn't need someone with such negative actions in my life so I let it go. Maybe I was just telling myself I wasn't mad at him anymore but I sure as hell believed it. So that's what I did.
I told him that I forgave him anyway.
He stopped by my office to drop off some paperwork and that's when I told him. It was awkward, yes, but lifted a weight off my shoulders. After that he left in silence with his head hung low, most likely regretting the loss of such a mature, beautiful young woman who gave away nothing but love.
Derek's POV: I walked into the BAU with a hot coffee in my hands, kept my head down and my eyes trained on my shoes as I entered the conference room.
I sat next to Reid, who sat next to JJ, and listened to Hotch tell us about a lead they just recently received. I tried not to hear the sound of Savannah's hurt voice bounce around in my head.
"Just thirty minutes ago a van was spotted dumping something in an alley beside a bar a few miles west of here. They wrote down the license plate and have guarded off the site of the dumping until we arrive. The scene is left untouched but the bar owner claims the wrapping is in the shape of a body."
"Is Garcia running the plate number?" I asked as I set down my coffee.
"Already on it," he responded and continued to talk. "Reid, Derek, i want you two to investigate the most recent dump site. If this is another victim then he'll be on the prowl for a new one soon. JJ, I want you to hold a press conference to warn everyone about the upcoming attack but do your best not to raise panic.
"Blake, I need you to map the dump sites while me and Rossi interview the bar owner."
We all took in the information and went to work.
