JJ's POV:
The plane ride from Houston, Texas was boring since everyone was so tired. There wasn't much to talk about, anyway. We caught the bad guy, saved a life or two and worked our butts off.
The case was crazy. Three men were mutilated by a young woman who was extremely good at faking it. She was hard to catch and at first we suspected her but decided she was clean when most of her family told us she was out of town at the time.
Turns out they were in on it as well.
Once the plane landed we all got off and headed for the BAU where, usually, Garcia was waiting for us but she didn't that night.
While Derek called her, I headed to the restroom to freshen up before heading home, which I was dreading.
For the past few months, Will had been drinking.

A lot.

I wasn't sure why but he was a borderline alcoholic and when he drank too much some nights he became abusive.
He would throw glass bottles at me, wrap his fingers around my neck and slam me up against a wall, kick and punch me.
Then, he'd wake up the next morning and not remember any of it. But, once he noticed the scars and bruises that scattered my body and the glass sprayed across the floor I had to explain to him what he had done.
Every time he didn't believe me, and I would take the alcohol away, completely rid our house of the toxic beverage but when the withdrawals got bad he went and bought some whiskey.
He would only beat me when Henry was in bed, thank God. He never touched him for some reason which I was thankful for.

I splashed water on my face, pulled my hair into a ponytail and grabbed my stuff to go home.
As I was walking to the door I heard Spencer call out to me.
"Here, let me get that for you..." He said and pulled the glass door open for me.
"Thanks, Spence," I smiled and walked through. "So what are your plans for tomorrow?" I asked, remembering we get a day off and that I would be stuck with Will the entire time. My heart plummeted but I didn't let it show.
"I was actually going to go and visit my mom in Nebraska. I'll be leaving for the plane in five hours, actually, so I can get back here quicker in case we have a case."
"I thought she was in Nevada?" I ask and he shakes his head.
"No, they moved her to a hospital in Nebraska, said she requested it. My dad, who I haven't seen since I was young, signed off on it. She called me a few days ago saying she wanted me to come and visit her since I'm closer now, so that's what I'm going to do," he raised his eyebrows and opened the backdoor of my car for me.
I didn't even realize we were already in the parking lot. "Thanks," I told him and tossed my duffle bag of clothes on the seat, shut the door.
He shoved his hands into his pockets and watched me open the front door.
"So what are you doing tomorrow?" He asks with an innocent smile.
"Probably going to take Henry to the park, get out of the house for a while." I shrugged my shoulders and turned on my car. I flipped on the heated seats since it had gotten considerably colder since the plane landed.
"But...you haven't had a full day to stay at home in a couple of weeks. Why would you want to get out of the house?" He turned his head in puzzlement.
"No reason. Just...haven't been to the park in a long time." I laugh to myself and shut the door as I roll down the window.
"Cool." He nodded and took a deep breath as he crossed his arms, tried to stay warm.
"Well, good night Spence. Travel safely tomorrow." I told him and started pulling out of my parking spot when he suddenly stops me.
"JJ, wait." He called and I stopped the car as he leaned into the window. "Speaking of safe travels, make sure you put your seatbelt on. You don't have it on yet and statistics show that seat belts really can save lives. When used correctly, wearing a seatbelt reduces the risk of a fatal injury to the occupants of the front seat by 45%." He nods with a grin and pulls his head out of the car. "See you soon."
"See you later. Tell your mom I said 'hi.'" I shoot him a smile and he nods his head. I pulled out of the BAU parking lot and headed home, in hope the Will had run out of whiskey.

In hope that Henry had remained untouched...unharmed.
