5.45pm

Fish and Chips was a brilliant way to finish this day. I was hesitant about eating them in public just because of the seagulls and how vicious they're recently becoming. They were notorious for swooping down and knocking food out of people's hands; signs had recently being put up warning people to be careful of them. Thankfully, upon the cliff, I was safe from the lurking gulls. Due to my constant rumbling tummy, I was forced to empty my pockets and buy a large portion, which even I knew I wouldn't finish.

The sun rested comfortably on the horizon, clouds marbled navy and peach aimlessly floating above. Sun rays balanced on the calm sea, gently caressing the sand. I took a photo and decided to work from it tomorrow for Art. I'd use oil pants and layer it up on the sea, creating a texture you couldn't help but run your hands across.

"don't you find it weird how we're here the exact same time as one another?" a familiar voice spoke behind.

"very," I responded, turning around and smiling at him. Unfortunately, he was dogless, but not that that mattered.

"how long do you stay here for?" He asked, perching down next to me, his terracotta coloured flats dangling off of the edge.

"until I get cold," I spoke, offering him one of my chips. He smiled and took a crunchy chip, the ones I usually leave behind.

"why have you left all the best chips?" he asked, but I frowned, I much preferred the soggy ones, they held more flavour and melted in your mouth.

"take them, I always leave the crunchy ones." I laughed, they're the type that chip your teeth and leave your mouth feeling oily.

"we should share chips more often because I can't stand the fat juicy ones." I began laughing at his choice of wording, never thinking to put it that way.

"they're the best!" I exclaimed, laughing as he demolished all the leftover chips.

The sky began to change colour into a melted violet with a grey tinge, the sun now a blazing orange across the sea. I pulled my phone back out and took a couple of photos for my Art. He looked at me and laughed, shaking his head.

"surely you should admire it through your eyes, not through a screen?" and that's something I stood by, I much prefer living in the moment, it's more memorable that way.

"it's for my art project," I clarified, and he nodded.

"that would make a beautiful painting, you'll have to bring your book down again." I nodded, but I doubt I would unless I'd walk down from school again. It's a lot to carry and can easily become and nuisance, plus I'm not too keen on sharing my work with people anyway.

"maybe." I spoke softly, placing my phone back into my oak coloured jumper. "anyway, I best get going, it's getting cold." he nodded.

"thank you for the chips." he spoke, and I laughed,

"don't be."
